Love it! It's weird, every WPS tweet I've received on my phone I've expected to be this move and I don't have any inside scoops.

Watch an MLS Game With Peter Wilt

    excerpt:

4:54 pm: Is that Leslie? It is. Just saw Milwaukee’s own Leslie Osborne uncredited in a commercial for Golme. An hour ago, I helped Red Stars GM Marcia McDermott put the finishing touches on a contract offer to the WPS free agent in efforts to bring Leslie back to the midwest. She’d be a great addition, but the Red Stars are up against the salary cap as we’re also trying to keep Cristiane, so I’m not sure if the offer will be good enough for Leslie.

Just another reason I love this move!

Now if we can snag Cristiane as well...

You must be getting fairly close to the salary cap yourselves at this point...

    Quote:
“I am tremendously excited to play for the Boston Breakers,” said Osborne. “Boston has a special place in my heart and I am ready to give everything I have to this great organization. This is a great opportunity to learn from such an experienced coach like Coach DiCicco and to play alongside some of the best players in the world. Being in the same city as our sponsor Puma is only another positive for me. I cannot wait to arrive in Boston and begin to prepare for the 2010 WPS season.”

With quotes like this how can you not love this player! It's always nice to see a player that's excited about playing in your city....and not in a hurry to run home.

I hope Mittsie is happy in Philly. It's was too bad AJ wasn't good enough to hold the clipboard for Tom Brady but we're better off in the end, with a better right back and a hotter blonde to boot!

RF1 - Ozzy's been all class. You re-produced her brief quote from our press release, but I'm impressed she took the time to send a letter to the Breakers fans today via the team's e-mail newsletter, which was subsequently syndicated on Jeff Kassouf's website here:

    http://equalizersoccer.com/WebPages/news/newsDetails.aspx?nId=298bd3c7-e1e8-451c-bdc1-f5456389cdf7

Gotta love the multiple references to bringing a championship to Boston. As Tony DiCicco said to me today, he just hopes he got half the player on the field that he acquired in character and leadership.

Osborne Eager To Make Breakers Debut
Published by Ryan Wood on October 23, 2009

"Boston has awesome fans, and I want to do the best I can for them. I remember them, playing against Boston in June. I remember the corner of fans. I thought, ‘this is crazy, this is so cool.”

“I fell in love with the city,” she said. “And I’ve always wondered how I could find a way to get back to Boston. I haven’t been this excited in quite a while.”

“I’m excited,” Osborne said, not only about playing for the Breakers but meeting her new teammates and taking in Red Sox and Celtics games. “I haven’t felt this excited in a long time.”

This girl just continues to say the right things....

"I think Kraft’s "marketing" and us being able to support each other off the field is super important. I’m not sure how it’s been in the past, but I hope we can be supportive of them and help them out and vice-versa."

What is this marketing you speak of Leslie?

Seriously though....If she brings her game up to the quality of the answers she's given in all these interviews I just might have a new favorite player!

What about the BRUINS?? Come on Kelly!

Does anyone know if Kelly is making more than she did last year at FCGP and what her contract is worth?

Errr...this is the only "Kelly" Osbourne (sic) I am familiar with.

I don't know what she made at FCGP last year, but I can assure you that the Breakers have no interest.

    hahahaha!:D

I hadn't seen what RFR had posted as I've been "ignoring" his posts for some time now....I guess "ignore" doesn't work for quoted posts.

Do yourself a favor Andy and ignore RFR!

LOL! Sorry, I meant did Leslie Osborne get an increase over what she made at FCGP?

Just ignore Revs Fan 1. He's a big crybaby who chooses to ignore people when he has nothing intelligent to say.

I'm Switzerland here, fellas...I ignore no one.

As a team policy, we don't reveal salary terms, nor would we discuss another team's terms.

To briefly address a popular topic among Breakers fans that came up with regard to the one-year deal we did with Heather Mitts for the 2009 season, I will confirm that Leslie Osborne's contract is a multi-year deal.
