Don't listen to this guy ^. I'm seriously considering going and I think my budget is going to be about $6000 as well. The flight is like $2200 (from Detroit - will likely be less from major cities like Miami) Tickets will vary, I'm thinking about picking a city and trying to get all the group games for that city (I see they are going for like $90 per game so 5 games at like $90 each = $450). If you only get team specific tickets it will probably be only like $300 or so (unless you get knockout round as well). Hotel I'm assuming $200 a night (yes it's high but I really don't know what kind of inflated rates they will have so I'm assuming worst case) although hopefully I can find one for less (haven't really looked into this yet as I'm waiting for the draw to see who is playing in what city). But let's say 14 days at $200 a night = $2800 So that's about $5500 with all your soccer expenses covered (flight there, a place to stay, and tickets to the games... and obviously this could be knocked down if you can get a hotel for cheaper, even at $100 a night it would knock this down to like $4100). Although, if you travel around to different cities, that will add more costs as well. After that, the only other expenses are food and random other costs you incur as a tourist. I don't figure to spend that much on this kind of stuff since I'll mostly either be going to that city's games or watching other city's games at various local places (hoping they set up those big screens in public places where all the fans gather around). So, yeah, $6000 should be plenty enough to cover the whole trip.
Hey there...Im in Chicago and will be going to South Africa to watch the WC. Going to watch Mexico. Havent made any plans yet, wondering if there are any other Mexican fans going, maybe from Chicago or anyone in the U.S. that would like to meet up and make some plans...like share a hotel room and what not.
I'm going to the WorldCup 2010, I have bought my airfare already, hotel reservations are half paid off and I have lots of tickets, but none for Mexico. Any help on where can I trade/sell my tickets and purchase tickets for Mexico matches?
My cousin paid 18.5K for everything...hotel 3 tix for 2 mex games not the inaguration though...and they gave him el cruce de group a 2nd place vs group b 1st place
You cousin must not be a very thrifty traveler. My airfare, 'hotel' for 12 nights, and tickets to 7 group stage matches (2 USA, 1 Honduras, 4 others) came out to be a total of $3300.
Apperantly South africans already throwing the towel on supporting their team...im sure ull find inauguration tix while you are there... I wouldn't be surpised if there were more Mexicans than South africans at that game... haha Vuvuzelas...me la pelan jaja
you mean Ban?? ha yes they are annoying as shit.... its funny how that one dude said that Mexico doesnt know what a few thousands vuvzelas sound like...well no we dont but we know what 100K screaming mudafackers sound like.. ke wey...vas pal mundial?
My budget is at least 10 grand but, it is too much already. Bringing 20 grand as for me, means I will still go for shopping and maybe play casino too!
