OK, we are happy as Argentina won last two matches and qualified. But many of users, don't believe if future of the NT under Maradona. There are also very respected users, who believe in Diego as a coach (NYC_COSMOS f.e.).
So, it would be interesting how were changed our view about NT DT.
I gave here almost all names, which I saw here as "possible" versions from forum members for last two monthes.
Of course, I realize, that some of them have more and other less chances, to become NT DT. This poll just will tell on our wishes. Please write your comments after voting.
P.S. I hope, Mods won't close this poll.

How come you didn't put Ricardo Gareca, Diego Simeone or Ramon Diaz as choices?

I agree about Simeone. I really think he is the guy. He showed the same passion/love of the shirt as maradona, but without the side show. Hes already won two titles as a coach, and has san lorenzo top of the table at the moment. i think he would instill a sense of discipline to the team too, like dunga has done for brasil. el cholo would coach the way he played, con el cuchillo entre los dientes. of the people listed, i would choose bianchi or pekerman

Maradona was the greatest player ever but as a human being, he's one hell of a piece of shit. I don't want my kids listening or anywhere near this idiot. As an all around athlete and professional, he doesn't break the top 10 and is a prime example of what not to be. I don't think we'll pass the first round with Maradona but if we do than I hope we win it so maradona could go on a Crack a barrel Coke fest and perish into the futbol heavens.

I think the most qualified person to lead the national side right now is Hector Cuper or Carlos Bianchi. Maybe Simeone is not a bad bet either.

As I wrote, I took names, who were somehow associated with NT for last two monthes. Wht about Simeone and Diaz they are also good options. Can't agree about Gareca;)

I voted for Bianchi, despite that I know, he has not the best chances, to coach NT under Grondona. Reason: All his argentine (Velez, Boca) teams were with winning menthality and were on high tactical level. I think this needs current NT.

If we're to win to the World Cup in South Africa, then it'll be Maradona.

Bianchi could be if he doesn't chicken away again when they offer it to him.

I voted for Batista. He's the only coach of the above mentioned who already has a major victory with the national team.

I liked him more with that hippie beard though. :D

Why Batista and not Tocalli or Ferraro then?

Because if Maradona resignes, Batista has much more chances to coach NT than both of them together!:)

I voted Bianchi, but I also think Pekerman would be a viable option.

Simoene, the man has some experience, would die for the shirt:rolleyes:, and is I think in touch with the modern game and would certainly be able to I think communicate well with the boys.

Last nite I lost the 2-3% respect I had for Simeone. His system is the typical "highschool" game: All in attack and then lets see how we defend.

He is too much of a risk taker, and thinks that by putting more peeps in attack will force the opponent to bunker further. It doesn't work like that, when a smart coach beats you with 9 or as last nite, also places you 3 forwrads regardless of what you do.

End result, Simeone's main philosophy is fluke. He had luck on his side to win games in the 90th+ at Estudiantes ... and at River, thanks to Ortega.

Well he won the tournament because of the way they are structured (apertura/clausura). the longer the tournament would have lasted, the more exposed his shortcomings would have had been... when this system is going to end?? It's such a mentira...
