I feel bad because I was just up in Milwaukee and could have had Sprecher aplenty, but didn't try any. I was too obsessed with finding New Glarus beers.

No sin in that. Sprecher you can find outside of WI. New Glarus is only distributed in the Dairy State.

Aecht Schlenkerla. Is. Awesome. I love Rauchbiers. Was it on-tap or in a bottle. I've never seen the Marzen on-tap in the US.

I'm sitting at home drinking an Iron Horse Mocha Death.

To be honest, the original Irish Death is better. This is flat and very one-dimensional as far as the mocha is concerned. It could be old, but that's not much of an excuse for this conditioning.

    Anytime my friend.

But let me tell you, those 7 & 8 percenters catch up with you rather quickly.

I got some Weyerbacher Merry Monks and Delirium Tremens in the fridge. Just one of those on an empty stomach and I'm ready for bed.

    True, that. Speaking of which:

And one really doesn't want Nosferatu catching up to you.

    Great beer, though.

How'd you like the Palo Santo Marron at 12%? I tried it last night. Really complex woody flavors, but I'm not sure yet whether I like it or not, especially at $15+/4-pack.

I've found that the Palo Santo is better with some age on it. It's a little hot when it's fresh.

Loves me some Weyerbacher. And I'm the same boat as you - one of those and I'm a sleepy boy.

the first had a bubble gum like taste, the second was a very good Weisse, highly recommended. the last one was pretty tasty as well, fruity with a strong carmel flavor

Went to Bailey's Chocolate Bar on Saturday night. It's a dessert bar here in St. Louis.

I had the "Black and Red" - think black & tan made with YOUNG’S DOUBLE CHOCOLATE STOUT & LINDEMAN’S FRAMBOISE - it was fantastic for a dessert.

    Hope this helps
It was pretty much equal parts (maybe slightly more Stout.)
The framboise was on the bottom.

    Sorry.. missed this.
It was in a bottle. It was definitely tasty.. not something I'd drink everyday though.

I really liked it. But I wouldn't drink more than one in any sitting.

I had it with a pesto dish.

I thought it started with very nice carmel and vanilla flavors that finished with a bit of the woody flavors.

I noticed that as it warmed, the woodiness was more pronounced. I liked it better when it was colder (45-50 degrees).

I love drinking beer in the fall and winter. I think some of the best beers come out in the fall and winter. Here's some I've been drinking this fall, so far:
    Founders- Harvest Ale
    Magic Hat- Roxy Rolles
    New Belgium- Hoptober
and it wouldn't be fall in St.Louis without drinking Schlafly's Oatmeal Stout and their Coffee Stout as well.

On a cold morning, you need to try the Coffee Stout warmed with a couple of crisp cookies on the side. Delicious.
