yes I do, and the same Mexico mods have even said that they try to be very hospitable to any new user even if they are not from Mexico. we even got a thread for welcoming peeps the more the merrier so either you misunderstood the Mexico mods or it sounds like baiting.
I don't agree there is a disparity. I really don't. I think you only see one side of the story and are coming to negative conclusions. I actually find his blog pretty entertaining even if I don't agree with everything he says. I don't think he's a racist but I can't see into people's souls. Maybe you should ask him, but I don't see the point in getting worked up about what bloggers say. He has a whole nation that wants to kill him.
Fair enough - I don't go into the forum myself so I can't argue this point very forcefully. I was mainly trying to counter the point that BigSoccer has a unfair tilt in favor of US fans and US mods. Can we at least agree that US fans who troll in your forum are dealt with and not allowed to run free? Can we agree that some US mod invasion sanctioned by BigSoccer isn't about to happen?
Guys, just to be clear, any Mod from anywhere that goes into Mexico to troll gets, at a minimum, a pm from me to cut it out or their Mod days will be at an end shortly. I'm not going to name any names but every one that has come to my attention has received that pm. DK has backed me up 100% on that.
I mosco this, but thats not the point I think rebaño_sagrado was saying if I understood his post correctly.
There ya go, right there. 1) Stay out of other forums unless you want to make a positive comment. 2) If you want to make a negative comment, do so in the appropriate rivalry forum. 2a) If you want to read something, and reply in negative on your own team's forum, it would probably be better if you just stayed out of that team's forum. If I read the DC forum, go back to the Crew forum and say "this is what they said, and here's why they stink", that's probably not a good idea. In this case, a DC fan (mod or not) who feels offended should take it up with the Crew forum mods. Talking crap behind someone's back is never cool. 3) If you troll, you will be dealt with by that forum's moderators. (Not your own. If I go in to the Mexico forum and talk crap, then I would expect the Mexican mods to deal with me. If I cry foul over that, I should have thought about it BEFORE pushing the "reply" button.) 4) Moderators are, and always will be, held to a higher standard. It doesn't matter if you're a USA mod, a Mexico mod, a Japan mod, etc. Maybe a disclaimer at the top of every blog entry "The words in this blog represent the views of the author, not BigSoccer.com or the owners of BigSoccer.com" wouldn't be a bad idea? I'm not opposed to visiting other team's forums, or even posting in them. Be sure that when you do, you do so in a civil manner.
I'd disagree. There's nothing wrong with negative comments. There's a difference between being critical and trolling.
It's amazing that whoever selects the blogger still allows this prick to blog here. What's even more amazing is that Dark Knight infracts posters who neg rep Bill Archer when it is well deserved.
Yeah, but then you run the risk of people taking it the wrong way, then they get all bent out of shape. That's where the crap starts. It would probably be better just to keep the negative stuff in the appropriate forum. I'm just wondering, but has it ever dawned on anyone that Bill may be doing it for the attention? Boycott his stuff (don't read his blog, don't reply to his blog, don't post where he posts) and see what happens. It's just a thought. As for infracting, maybe DK is infracting them for other reasons? As a Crew forum regular, it amazes me that we get a number of posters who support various teams that come over and talk crap. I think a percentage of that is just to rile him up. Next thing I know, we've got 15 of the original person's buddies coming over to talk more crap. Give it a try. Stay away from Archer and see what happens. Keep him off your radar and he just may keep you off his.
I got banned from the bill archer blog when I posted that I wanted proof to the lies he was spewing about Mexico
The stick your head in the sand approach? I don't understand how some of your fans ask us to support your team, yet do nothing about the bigots.
If people get bent out of shape over a negative comment toward their team in their team forum, then people need to grow up and learn how to handle disagreement & criticism. That's not trolling, and the people who accuse others of trolling for doing that are the problem. Asking people who might have a negative view point to stay away would exacerbate the problem we have now, which is that we are xenophobic. I find it highly annoying that we can't have discussions with people of multiple teams without the inevitable accusations of "troll!".
Just curious - but does anything I say here matter to you one way or the other? It doesn't seem like it so why bother trying to change your mind if it's already made up? Is everything all good or all bad to you or is there any middle ground?
thats what happened to me and I still got banned even back in july I got banned because people cried wolf when there wasnt
Of course it matters. Since you're the one in charge....unfortunately. You're the one that needs to find the middle ground and deal with Bill Archer the same way I was dealt with.
Sometimes negative stuff is appropriate. Now and then I used to get accused on trolling in the yanks abroad forum, mainly for saying that the reason that Convey wasn't playing was because he didn't look very good, rather than it being some kind of conspiracy that the proportionally small, but determined, tin-foil hat brigade preferred. Sometimes balance is good. On the other hand, there are many who go about criticism in the wrong way. If you are posting to provoke a reaction, or just to have a laugh a the fans in that forum, then you are trolling.
Bill Archer is an out and out racist. He has proven this time and time again. Of course his racism will create blog hits for this site. People like controversy. But should that be a way for this site to get attention? Absolutely not. There should be a standard of integrity.
