Just picked up my copy of FIFA 10 for PS3.
Unfortunately I have a lot of meetings and such this afternoon, so I won't be able to break it out and queue up the Sounders until around 6 p.m.

Curious to hear what the Sounders rankings are, both team and individual players.

    Anyone played yet?

Mines coming in the mail sometime, I ordered it for 360 on EA.com so I'm just waiting for the UPS guy to drop it off. I know on the demo the fire were 3.5 so I'd imagine we're around that.

Besides FINALLY being able to play with my favorite team I'm looking forward to seeing what we land for a stadium and atmosphere! Hopefully EA implemented the CCL, SuperLiga, etc. Even in FIFA 07 when there were only five leagues there was a basic version of UEFA CL. My fingers are crossed!

Unless it has changed for this version, you can construct any tournament you like.

Because they are generally evenly matched, I always constructed the "Guinness Cup" which featured teams from Scotland and MLS. You can control group stage, away-goal rules and other variables.

I also would construct "Pacifica Cup", a tournament of West-Coast Mexican, West-Coast American and Japanese teams just for fun.

Obviously, his skills in Spanish translation and developing comical team surveys were not taken into account.
EA needs to fix this for FIFA 11. Taylor would have gotten at least a 79 rating ;)

How about including the coastal Central and South American clubs, and call it the "Ring of Fire"? The trophy could be a large circle made from lava (said with John Travolta accent).

There have never been any of the Central American clubs in any version of the game I have owned. Are they there on PC or something? Because I have had console versions for years and never had them.

Obviously I am missing something by not having a gaming console... I'm also probably missing something by only having one TV in the house and I doubt the wife would appreciate me playing a soccer video game on the one TV. :)

I'm not the one to ask as I don't play video games. I just like volcanoes and providing WestSeattle a reason to exposit. :)

As long as you just have a soccer game on FSC or ESPN or GolTV or whatever on the one TV at all times.

I've always played on 360, but this year I am thinking of buying it for the PC. I gain additional mods, but I lose sitting back on my big chair and playing more casually with potato chips and a Kokanee. It's hard to slouch on my office chair! Also the TV console has better sound. I got 5:1 on the PC, but the speakers are stinko. I got dual-screens on the PC, which means I can game with web browsers or other apps on the other screen.

I don't know, still stuck which way to go.

On the 360 I don't remember any Central American teams either, but the Mexican teams we're all there. I frequently played UNAM for example. The Australian teams were there and were usually the worst; so if you need cheap fodder to test your Sounders on, try Melbourne Victory or the like.

It would be cool if we posted screen shots of us leading the Sounders to various victories from time to time. When I do get the game, I'll let you know how they do in "Guinness Cup" up against Kilmarnock, Hibs and Dunde United.

I'll be buying it after I return from my trip. Would love to know other people's thoughts on playing the Sounders.

Happy to report I played my first game, an exhibition game that the Sounders won 2-0 over Chivas USA.

For those of you who don't play, the game is darned realistic. I scored the first goal on a Ljungberg PK after Zakuani was taken down in the box by Trujillo. A little later Jesse Marsch got a yellow card for a hard tackle and he later came close to a second yellow and the coach took him off so he wouldn't get the red.

In other words, they definitely played like the real Chivas USA -- all chip and bite and not a ton of skill. I also thought it was cool that the game recognizes Chivas as our "rival" and will play all exhibition matches against them unless you switch teams

Second goal came after I took off Jaqua, brought in Vagenas and pushed Ljungberg up to the front. Alonso slipped a through-ball into the box and Ljungberg beat Thornton.

Fun game. LOVE the fact the Sounders are in there. It's difficult though, I had a hard time keeping possession. Gonna have to work on that. We all know the Sounders are a possession team.

Yes I just save the live action gaming for after hours ;)

West I agree with the sound aspect, but it sounds like you need a comfy computer chair, and good game pad for the PC. I have been pleased with my Monsoon speakers for music on the desktop, and I do not do enough gaming that sound is that important to me. That may change when Diablo 3 finally hits the market though.

Scott good one. Like the gaming description. I will most likely pickup the DS version for now, I doubt I could ever talk the wife into getting an XBox or PS3.

I would imagine it requires a PC slightly larger than an itouch. :)

You can play PC games on Mac now. Or does your mac not have high enough specs?

Its not a mac. An itouch is basically an iphone, but without the cellphone and camera.

I'm a little disappointed in the iphone version so far. The Sounders don't have the right kits(blue jerseys and white shorts). They've also dumbed down the gameplay quite a bit and the only difference between the players is the number on their back. The AI is extremely lacking. Its so bad that I hacked at the Chivas player across the entire field and he never passed once. Even more impressive was when i accidentally hit the shoot button instead of the pass button and Alonso scored a goal from forty yards out. Even worse, the GK just stood there and watched it bounce pass him.

All in all, it looks like EA handed the iphone adaption off to a couple interns and said, "don't worry. I'm sure you'll do fine."

Not the first time someone accidently hit the SHOOT button on Alonso...

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Os-tAsbp5II"]YouTube - Alonso 65 yards out[/ame]

Oh OUR Alonso, okay. Would it have been more realistic if the goalie had tripped over his shoelaces? HEY. If it's in the game. Blah blah blah.

Imo i dont like how they set up the sounders formation. Maybe its just the way I play but they all ussually end up bottlenecking just out side the 18, which can be frustrating.

Philthiest moment happened in my 3rd game though, i crossed the ball to ljungberg on the opposite side of the feild, he volleyed it about 35 yards into the upper left V. Made Ricketts look like a fool!
