Govou should have opened the Lyon account. Got behind Insua and for some reason decided to use his feet instead of his head on the cross.

    Yossi!!!!

    1-0!

Ping pong in the box after a beautiful cross by Aurelio across the face, deflected to Yossi and he buried it!

Insua is not playing well. Gives up the ball cheaply and Lyon stings the palms of Reina.

    YOSSI breaks the deadlock!!

    1-0.

A nice counter by us. The goal came about because we committed numbers forward - 4 in the box for Aurelio to hit.

Let's get another and win the game.

World class save by Lyon's keeper. Kelly blasts a header to the left of the keeper and he one handedly keeps it out. Amazing. I don't know if any other keeper in the world would have been able to have kept that out using only one hand.

Aurelio has been spectacular with his crosses.

His shooting, not so much. :)

Aurelio made the far-post header - the cross was put in by Kelly.

Gerrard should have never started, luckily that mistake was fixed early in this game and it got us going. Another goal would seal it.

Nice explosion of speed and incredible cross by Kelly. Aurelio -- head it down lad! Brilliant save though.

Good recovery from the Gerrard injury. They are gonna come at us a bit now and we have to hold firm and counter attack quickly. An early second goal this half would be very welcome.

Kelly has been playing very well i think. Obviously early on he was just doing 2 dribble and pass back, but as the half wore on he started to dominate the right side...

The part where yosi scored, i gotta admit, it was funny seeing Kelly run in and make a dick of himself by almost ro-sham-boning Lucas.

Why have Lyon come here to defend??? Of all times to play Liverpool you think it would be now, but it seems as though they came here for a draw...

We have taken the lead but Lyons have had their moments too. The game is still in the balance. We need to start the second half in the same vein as the first half.

We have lost Gerrard and they have lost Kris so we both have had to reshuffle slightly.

We have often put a lot of men in their box to await crosses. That shows our mentality in this match. For the goal we had 4 men in the box plus Kuyt lurking unmarked in the D. At times we have made bad passes which have led to turnovers. We have to cut this out and keep possession better. We have looked quite dangerous when we win back possession quickly and then breaking forward in numbers. If we continue to do this and pick our killer passes better we should create a number of scoring chances in the second half.

We need another goal so I can relax! ;)

it seems lyon have stopped going down Govou's side which seems kinda couter productive for them as he was dominating insua in the first half.

58' N'Gog misses a nice chance after great cross by kelly

N'gog chests down the ball from a brilliant cross from Kelly and he shanks it.

    Awful.

Kelly is really impressing me tonight with his crossing.
