No TV, so hopefully we get a radio feed. Somehow I'm doubting it. First time we play them in 45 years, so hopefully we set it right. Stadium only holds roughly 9,000 people, so it's a bit of a stretch from what we are used to. Something like 2,000 of those will be Geordies tonight!

Scunthorpe at 3-1-2 at home this season, getting 10/14 points from their own stadium. They are sitting in 18th, 6 points above the relegation zone.

From nufc.com, and we are getting more and more bad news from the injury front (which shows why MA holding onto the club will make us miss out on promotion)

NUFC: to follow...Fabricio Coloccini (groin) and Steven Taylor (hamstring) are to be sidelined again, after both missing the defeat at Forest. Unconfirmed claims suggest that Taylor could be out for another 4-6 weeks.

Shola Ameobi (ankle) and Joey Barton (foot) are on the longer-term casualty list. Alan Smith goes into this game one booking away from a suspension, after accruing four yellow cards so far (plus two in the same game against Cardiff, for which he's already served a one game ban).

So we will likely be missing Smith for Doncaster at the weekend :D I predict a 1-1 draw. We haven't been playing well lately, and I get the feeling it's going to continue tonight. Hope I'm wrong. Howay the lads!

Hmmm...not sure what to think lately with the squad. I'm going to hope for a 1-1 draw or a 2-1 win for the lads.

I'm ok with Hughton being made manager proper. He's done a good job, with what he has to work with. He needs some more players though.

This is the best first post in a match thread I've ever seen.

It was, but Scunthorpe has really picked it up as the half has progressed.

Yeah, also sounds like we're lacking in the final third.

honestly with geremi on the pitch, and Nolan playing the second striker instead of in midfield I can understand. Nolan's played great, but I'd rather have Ranger up top with Carroll and Nolan attacking out of the midfield than Nolan up top and Guthrie attacking out of the midfield.

And to keep up with our current poor run of form, scunthorpe scores first in the 53'.

Either Nolan scored really quick or it took me a lot longer to write that than I thought

2-1, having no centerbacks is killing us.

My only hope, and trust me it's the faintest of hopes, is that Ashley will realize this isn't a ********ing cake-walk and that we need reinforcements if he wants promotion.

    Fat piece of shit.

Seems to me that not having any finishers is killing us even more.

I guess this is what happens with a thin squad, an inept manager, and a awful owner.

Shola needs to come back too, because he's the only one who can score behind Nolan, apparently.

It would be nice if Ranger got a chance since Caroll has done absolute shit.

The wheels are coming off fast here. With Ashley staying in charge I can only see that continuing. Hughton seemed to do well at the start of the campaign when the squad seemed to develop an "us vs them" mentality aimed at all the pundits who wrote us off even in this league. Sadly, I think that can only go on for so long and the players have to be as disillusioned as any fan with the behind the scenes shit that just goes on and on... That and injuries are taking their toll and we have barely no squad.

Back to feeling bad about everything connected with Newcastle United football club... Ah bewildered disappointment I know thee so well.

They changed it a couple of months ago, they decided that "shit" was no longer picked up by the swear filter. Lucky for us as its a phrase of choice around here.

Yeah the mood is pretty bleak. People are just so fed up with the football club and the fat bastard running things. I think most people feel resigned to the way things are. These are dark days for the club.
