A Yanktacular this afternoon, live on HD TV! Soccer on HD is sooooooo much better. Here's one preview that speculates on Jimmy Bullard's return to action with Hull at his old home: http://soccernet.espn.go.com/preview?id=269902&cc=5901&league=ENG.1 Sky selects Dempsey and Myhill to start, but wonders if Jozy has been back long enough to make the match: "Hull's squad is now nearing full strength, although USA striker Jozy Altidore could miss out after only returning from international duty over the weekend." http://www.skysports.com/football/match_preview/0,19764,11065_3162408,00.html
Couple of things: 1. So Dempsey's shoulder is good to go? Have to admit the USMNT rollercoaster of the past week has taken me out of the Fulham loop. 2. Are ESPN's Premier League games really HD? I thought I remembered reading that they weren't, yet.
Hopefully Clint rectifies that whole "leading the Premier League in shots without a single goal" problem today.
Cooper came on as a sub for 1860 on Saturday, and Bradley went 90 minutes yesterday for Gladbach, so I don't see why Jozy shouldn't be able to see at least some playing time for this one.
Especially after his "I'm going to play every game like its my last" statement. Brown seems to be as much about the attitude of the player as he is the skill of the player. Not every coach is willing to put a guy like Hunt out on the field as much as Phil does.
Doubt Jozy starts, but he should see some action of the bench if they are not in front. Hopefully Deuce starts and maybe a GAM cameo. Up the Tigers!
I left EJ out of the title line, probably shouldn't, but I'm trying to give him some extra motivation.
This soccernet preview predicts Dempsey on the bench and says Altidore won't be back until a few days before the match and implies that he won't be available. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/story?id=685709&sec=england&root=england&cc=5901
The only way Deuce doesn't start is that if they are saving him for Thursday. Jozy is obviously back in England, has been for 3 days.
I agree that Jozy is there, but the article is dated today. The author messed up, but without outside information he's saying that Jozy won't be back for a week.
Well played. If all three yanks score a goal tonight, I'll... I'll... Well, I'll do something crazy. And be happy.
Fulham: Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Duff, Murphy, Baird, Dempsey, Zamora, Kamara. Subs: Zuberbuhler, Kelly, Nevland, Gera, Riise, Smalling, Greening. Hull: Myhill, McShane, Sonko, Kilbane, Dawson, Zayatte, Ghilas, Marney, Geovanni, Hunt, Vennegoor of Hesselink. Subs: Warner, Altidore, Mendy, Halmosi, Mouyokolo, Bullard, Olofinjana. Referee: Andre Marriner (W Midlands).
Wow, i would have almost bet that Hodgs would put in Gera for Dempsey. Interesting with Baird in there. AJ is hurt?
