    Really?

He did state "sacrifice" so pay would still have to come from the clubs and but there would have to be some kind of negotiations.

Our most important players do play overseas, but does our base play over there too? Ochoa, Torrado, Magallón, Juarez, Sabah..etc.

Sure it may be called a horrible idea, but he is putting some out of the box thinking. + I doubt it would work in Mexico, as many cangrejos would bring the team down in one way or another.

I know, but the problem is the owners won't agree to it. Imagine if they have a bad game against Indios or Queretaro, the cangrejos will attack the team.

The Gold Cup that had weaker teams than the FMF helped the team get in great shape and people think it is stupid to try and build some chemistry?

what other way can you get a national team to play every week?
If the idea somehow passed it would be very beneficial. It would also allow Vasco to scout other players and call up and switch players around to see who performs.

in theory the idea is great but no one else does that....why should we? what makes us so special or different that we should do this to build chemistry? you wanna build more chemistry? thats what the friendlies will be for

Repoed for realism . I feel that this would be a great idea but teams would want exeptions like America would want ochoa for their important games or imagine chicharo doing great the week before el super Classico and having to join the national side . Vergara would be pissed.

Terrible idea. Someone already mentioned it but could you imagine the Picante idiots reaction once the national team dropped a game during league play? Plus theres no guarantee its going to make them any better once the World Cup comes around.

I think this would allow Aguirre more time to try different fowards in his system. And we definitely need some help up there. I mean, we have Guille who is a bench player for his club, Vela and Gio both bench players for their club, Castillo(who I once I was a supporter of but not anymore) never even makes it to the bench. This way we start fine tunning things early on with our base team and work on improving our attack. I doubt the team owners will let this pass. Letting go of their best players means it will hurt them competitively as well as financially. From Aguirre's standpoint, I dont it will hurt him, actually, it will help his team build more quimistry and rhythm.

How about just a bunch of friendlies vs the leagues squads, or one tourney.
It is just bad business to put your stars on another team and get whooped during a meaningful game. By meaningful I mean a game that can cost your team the trophy.

Primero que nada el que propone que Mexico juegue el clausura 2010 es el respetado "Rafael Lebrija" ... so before some of you guys get crazy and start throwing insults and jokes at Vergara because of simple hate... check your facts.... Vergara just spoke about it to the press, but it was lebrija who proposed this...

Who ever stated first publicly is irrelevent. Lebrija has been a first division president and never proposed that idea. When Lebrija was Toluca's president, he never proposed that idea.

    Why now?

It's very relevant actually. Take into consideration by seeing the name Vergara it will be kaos and won't see the good or bad (some, not all). He has his reasons, he's not a guy that can be controlled or be told what to say, he is a highly respect guy.

Vergara was constantly attacking Lavolpe for the constant use of his national team players. Now Vergara is fine with releasing his national team players for an entire season?

Lebrija never proposed this idea when he was with Toluca nor when he was the 1st division president.

What has changed between now and then?

    Anyone?

    Anyone?

Aside from the fact that Vergara is part of the national team committee, he has an economic interest with the NT.

I am not sure what function Vergara has now within the national team committee (comision de seleccion nacional -CSN). The whole SGE ordeal blew up in his face, so it is hard to see if he will be given the boot at the end of the World Cup cycle.

However, you do have Nestor de la Torre within the CSN.

I find it odd that Chivas would be proposing this considering that Vergara and de la Torre were constantly griping at Lavolpe for taking away their players.

    What gives?

Vergara will not be getting kicked out of the CSN anytime soon.. The only reason Vergara has any power in FMF is because of Televisa which hooked him up in order to renew the Chivas TV deal. Now, the only way I can see a Seleccion FC benefiting Chivas is if both Arellano and Hernandez are called in. Chivas will still have Bravo and most likely Bautista on the team.

As we can see now; Chivas has been doing a good job of exporting players and Arellano and Hernandez will be good deals. Also, if the idea works then Vergara/Lebrija will be seen as revolutionaries. I wonder if Lebrija plans on being influential within FMF again. IMO, the idea sounds good on paper but there are far too many negatives that outweigh the positive.

Lebrija I meant. And like I said who knows why he didn't think of it before, only he knows.. but w/e it's not going to happen anyway.. does anyone think Mexico NT would dominate? ...

    Over preparation.

The sub23 played a littany of games before the Carson tournament, and it did nothing for them except give them tired legs.

The chemistry idea is solid, except when more than half the team that takes the field for their first game in SA play in Europe.

I even think the 60 day concentración is too much.

Not a fan of the idea. Stick to the fechas fifa, play your money grabs in the USA, and then get ready a month before the tournament like everybody else. The team will be fine.

Why focus on it being a Chivas proposal?

Besides, did people forget Chivas was questioning the 45 day concentration Aguirre asked for?

I'd like to hear more about the reasoning for this proposal. No other national team has tried soemthing liek this as far as I am aware so it'd be interesting to see how it would work out.

I can already picture the bad press if the team struggles.

i think its a great idea. allowing the team to gel more, especially the back up defenders. allowing cappello to master his tactics as well as try new ones with the team playing away in a game i'm sure is much more valuable than doing so in practice.

aguirre will have plenty of games to make up for the two years he was unable to try new players. not only that, but playing against these players in a game will give him a closer look. would be a great chance for guys like correa, reyna and el hobbit, who i feel are over looked, to prove themselves by playing against aguirre.

will also give a wide variety of styles to play against, like bunker ball san luis or an attack minded pachuca

i think the positives definitely out weigh the negatives.
