That game had so much in it, I've never been so heartbroken and elated in the same 90 minutes. Fortunately final score is all that matters, F*CK YEA!

Playoffs, here we come. 4-1-1 in our last 6. Does any team want to play us in a home and home with the way we are playing on the road?

    Don't think so.

The puny size of that field effected the quality and style of play from both teams. Are we going to get to a point where the MLS can mandate full sized fields for games? This is the highest level of soccer in the country, and teams have to play on toy sized pitches. Looked kinda silly to me.

Feel free to pile on now and explain what kind of idiot I am for saying this.

Nope. You're right. And it was kind of embarrassing to see the pitcher's mound. Are they kidding? I thought this was KC's new SSS?

This field is their temp field while their new stadium is being built.

The stadium is their long term temporary home while their new stadium funding and site are approved and constructed. I would imagine two more years in that location for KC.

The ironic thing is that I believe KCs coach ranted as much as Gary Smith in Colorado about the quality at Starfire.

Amen. Its funny KC's ex coach whine at the qualify of pitch at starfire and yet they got a much worse pitch as their home stadium.

    What a fun game.

Complacency nearly killed us - and what a frightening result a loss would have been. It would have been double-painful for me. I have a conference overseas next week so I cannot attend next weekend's game. If it had been a game that could have made or break clinching I would have been heartbroken.

I am stunned we pulled Zak late in that game. He was pwning KC for most of the game. I also thought he was doing little things that were impressive. I think his game has improved substantially this season - and I think he will be a joy to watch next year too (assuming he doesn't graduate to another league).

I was thrilled with this roller coaster ride. I felt bad for Fredy, painful to watch two easy one's like that get away. Then Jaqua nearly missed another easy one! Thank the almighty that one slipped under the bar!

What a fantastic franchise this is. What a thrill this season has been. How lucky we are to have one of North America's greatest soccer teams, right at our backyard.

Congratulations to all of you, and to all the players, owners, coaches and trainers. Truly, you do us all proud.

Congratulations, your fans and your city definitely deserve it! I was in Seattle last week visiting family, but I went into Seattle for the first time to watch the USA v Honduras game. My wife and I got off the ferry and headed straight for your stadium. Grabbed a scarf and walked around until gametime. Got alot of love from people downtown and especially in Fado's. You guys are a class act up there.

Now you Sounders better win the Cup.

Who are you and what have you done with Westie? You've got the long ppst down, but this post is way too optimistic.

Oh and E. WA sucks!! Was getting my beer on in Leavenworth and no Sounders game anywhere.

This was a rollercoaster-emotion game. Zak looked dangerous going round the corner of their defense in both halves. On offense, we generated a TON of EXCELLENT chances and Montero and Zak could not close the deal. Kudos to Sigi for putting in Levesque, who consistently scores very, very important goals in important games. And Ljungberg turned it on in the second half, thank goodness. Unfortunately, our defense was, in a word, shambolic. Gonzalez in particular has a nasty habit of giving his mark WAY too much space and was the direct cause of one of the KC goals and Evans and Jaqua weren't marking well at all (Evans was behind his man that he knocked down in the box). Sigi was right to take out Zak when he - his defensive marking sucked all night. And I agree with Vanney - the back line was way too deep, giving KC - even in that tight little field - way too much space. GREAT WIN but jeez, they made it hard to watch. Usually, our defense is excellent. I think that pitch screwed up their spacing a lot.

Perhaps, but I think Marshall was at least partly responsible in both goals against.

The grass at CAB looks nice, it seemed to play well too.
The field at Starfire is small like CAB. I would take CAB over Starfire.

It appears there is a little room to widen CAB. not much you can do length wise though.

Not the first and only partly in the 2nd. I don't mean to single out Leo because he wasn't getting much help from his midfielders, but Zoltan was going around Gonzalez all night. On the first goal, Jaqua strolls over too late and Harrington passes a dangerous ball into the box, low and on the ground. Gonzalez is ball watching and Zoltan continues his run past a stuttering Gonzalez.

On the second goal, Zakuani (trotting back), Vagenas (can't really be blamed as it wasn't his man), and Gonzalez (whose man it really was), all let KC's best player, Arnaud, stroll up the (very small) field and put a dangerous pass in the box. Sure Marshall missed the clearance but why wasn't Evans goalside of his man?

That said (just armchair quarterbacking so we return to tight defense for the playoffs), I love this team and am proud of tonight's fight back on offense!!! Sounders 'til I die!

yeah I thought the grass itself looked as nice as any the sounders have been on all year- too bad it was the size of a pee-wee league field.

and for soemthing comepletly different: Whoo- hoo! Next week is gonna be fun!

So pumped bout how it ended up today!

-Zak is skilled and fast and really lazy and really weak with any contact. He is a striker IMO but can see why Sigi plays him at LM cause when he cuts in it's kinda like another striker.

-Good thing we have a very aleart player LB to cover. Obviously Leo was a bit off today but still did well besides the little mistakes.

    -Vagenas was invisible

-Fredy had a bad game but hope that means extra effort against Dallas!

-Freddie is just amazing but we all know that.

-Levesque is looking really clutch and seems like his confidence is growing and he is given some freedom to roam Le Toux like.

    Playoffs here we come!!

Why don't you visit the torrents thread? They always have them recorded and put up on torrents. This is the best option if you have a slow connection.
