Do you have any idea what the effects on the economy would be if the federal government stopped doing business with Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman?

    It would not be pretty.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here - but if a RNC or DNC voter registration drive pulls in just one fraudulant name (MickeyMouse) or improperly registered voter (address) that is not screened out before filing - they would get cut off from all funding as well? Including the IRS optional $1 matching fund donation we all see on our tax returns?

Fun times. Talk about the nuclear option...

You should read the book, yo. The vampires in the book are a lot like what Smith thinks the monsters are like in the movie.* (And if you think they were without intelligence and emotion in the movie, you weren't paying close enough attention.)

    * Read the book, SRSLY. It's really good. And I don't want to spoil any of it for you. Don't worry, most of what the movie shares with the book is the premise - the setting, end, and many many plot points are different.

******** it. Let's show people what happens when you govern like petulant bitches instead of grown ups. (They apparently have already forgotten the past 8 years, astonishingly.)

Can you tell I'm tired of the GOP bullshit?

    It was a tongue-in-cheek comment.

Zero. They would change their name to Executive Engineering Outcomes and life would continue as normal. Just like our overseas security contractors did.

Alright. I heard that the book is good and very different from the movie. I should read it.

It's curious as to why you're bending over backwards so far on an issue in which you're just flat out wrong.

I know zombies. I LOVE zombies. Those things were NOT zombies. For starters, zombies can come outside at all hours of the day.

My idea of vampires is that they are much more human than that. They can blend with humans and act human and seduce you and maybe kiss you or even start having sex with you and then they bare their teeth and suck your blood. That is what makes them so frightening. Fictional creatures like for example Stoker's Count Dracula, Rice's Lestat de Lioncourt and the like. Even the 'Twilight' vampires or the 'Buffy' vampires fit the stereotype I have.

I know in the book they are supposed to be more intelligent and human like, but the creatures from the movie with Will Smith (while they do show some signs of intelligence) are so far removed from my idea of a vampire that even though their infection makes them vulnerable to light I have to characterize them as zombies.

But hey, this is not a serious discussion, come on, we are talking about creatures that don't exist, right?

    Right?

Yeah, I know. That's about all you've been doing in this forum lately.

It's pretty tiresome, especially from the guy who's supposed to be the forum's moderator.

Oh they're definitely zombies. But not your average "Night of the Living Dead" zombie. They are new breed of mutants. But they're zombies :)

Amen brother. I wish I could buy you beer. I used to consider myself a independent but all the lies, culture wars, and race baiting bullshit has pushed me farther left then I ever thought I would be.

You need to watch Blade or 30 Days of Night. They're are definitely variations of vampires. Not all of them can pass as human.

I agree... but it would wipe out Lockheed and Grumman.

Also, it raises the question of why there's one law for the poor and another for the rich. If we're really concerned about stamping out immorality maybe we SHOULD be punishing these people REGARDLESS of how it affects us.

The reality is, of course, that most people don't really give two shits about corruption or immorality as long as they think they might benefit from it in some way.

Since I've been following politics, (some 4 decades now), I've noticed that politicians phrases such as 'the difficult choices', and, 'unpalatable decisions' will ALWAYS be used when people mean cuts in welfare or other things that might benefit the poor... NEVER raising taxes.

After all, there's 'unpalatable' and then there's UNPALATABLE!, isn't there. It seems much easier to take the 'moral high ground' when poor people, who can't do much about it, will be the ones that suffer.

Actually meaning what we say and saying what we mean... well, where's the fun in that?!

    But of course.

The thing is, most of us don't benefit from the corruption, but we don't see in a concrete way how it hurts us, so we just let it be.

Hard to have much sympathy for ACORN, they should have known better than to trust white people.

who gives a proverbial flying ********?

They break the law and defraud tax payers daily now because they know there is no punishment for it, except yet another contract they can make an obscene profit from.
There is no way Northrup (or, say, GE) should be doing business with the taxpayers after all the fraud they've perpetrated against us.

Maybe, if we had punished them for what they did each time, for real, they would have stopped by now, or not grown into such behemoths that you'd be willing to let them get away with murder because it would be unpleasant for you to worry about it.
But fining them $100,000 for a fraud of $900,000 is not much (really any!) punishment, and that is all they ever do to these douche-nozzles.

Selfishly, I am also sick of those bastards putting their name on almost every building I can see from my office :)
