anyone else on twitter? I find it to be a condensed open forum where you can exchange ideas like we do on this very forum. anyways Mike Petke had this to say on his twitter "RBNY supporters of anyone should always remember what happened last year. Peaking at the right time is the most important. (sounded creepy)". apparently a tree fell on his house as well... Mike Petke's Twitter Red Bulls Reader mine (i haven't updated recently as I'm trying to update once my portfolio website is up and running)
I did for a while, but it really gets distracting. I can multitask very well when I control jumping from browser window to app window. But things popping up at me always distract me and I loose my train of thought.
Jim if you use firefox you can try a plugin such as TwitterFox and it wont pop up tweets, but you can click on it and read everything when you want to..
True, but it's not the browser that buzzes when I get a text message! I was twittering via blackberry. Bottom line, I do have a twitter account, so I can geek out if need be.
See, that is what killed it for me. My stupid friend was bored one day, and twittered about getting in his car, driving to the store, what was on the radio. Seriously, I got about 30 text messages I didn't want in 5 minutes.
Just wanted to bring up how easy it was to follow up on USMNT games via twitter. It's much easier than to follow on the boards since it's constantly being updated during games and you get stuck on some pages that aren't new USMNT Twitter search Just wanted to suggest that if you search for "RBNY" or "#RBNY" on twitter you'll get up to date posts containing the team. RBNY Twitter search The only reason I bring this up is because I've found that Twitter is MUCH easier than forum boards when trying to talk about live games and what not. not trying to force twitter upon you guys, but just suggesting it.
I've seen that but I prefer to type posts that are bigger than 160 (#?) characters. Also, I don't mind going back to My Bigsoccer to check on the updated thread. Saying that, when I do need PBP, it's either through gamecast (mostly for EPL matches) or through Twitter. It's not a bad option.
http://twitter.com/juanpabloangel it's not verified yet, but it seems like Petke is no longer the only Red Bull on twitter... some bad news about tonight's game (Kansas City) though...
I know the NFL has cracked down on social networking sites for reasons like this.....where Juan Pablo Angel is announcing his injury before the team makes it official.
There are much stupider ways to waste your time. Twitter's OK and can get you some up-to-date ahead of a lot of other services.
i used to think this as well. but it helps tons in promoting my "business". it's a necessary tool for entrepeneurs and proven brands alike. there's a reason why CNN, New York Times, and other media and news outlets have jumped on. it's definitely not just a place to post about what you ate for dinner last night, that's for sure. not to mention it's infinitely easier than an in game forum thread to follow up with a match as well.
