Well if Liedson and Ronaldo up front, guaranteed this is the lineup... Tiago played RM in the last game and did very well so Im assuming we'll see him there again since Ronaldo is up front wit Liedson.

    ---------------Eduardo----------------
    Bosingwa----Carvalho----Alves----Duda
    ----------------Pepe----------------
    ---Tiago------------------------Simao-
    ----------Ronaldo------Liedoson------

    who will be sent off????

    ---Patricio---
    Bosingwa--Carvalho----Alves----Veloso
    ----------------Pepe----------------
    Nani---------Deco-----------Simao
    -----Liedson-----Ronaldo-----

    this would be my lineup

if we go ahead, i would bring tiago and maniche on for the nani and simao
    in the second half.
Then replace liedson with veloso and stack the defence leaving ronaldo upfront.

I think he will line up like this tomorrow, judging by which players he seems to like the most at the moment.

    RB Bosingwa
    CB R.Carvalho
    CB B.Alves
    LB Duda
    DM Pepe
    M R.Meireles
    AM Deco
    FW Ronaldo
    FW Simao
    ST Liedson

If 4-4-2 is really the formation CQ is going to use then I'll be seriously concerned. It doesn't take much to win against this Denmark but that portuguese midfield is chaotic.

Why don't we gather some money and pay a danish fan to invade the field today?

What if Portugal plays in a 4-3-3?

    ----------------Eduardo-----------------

    Bosingwa---R.Carvalho----B. Alves----Duda

    -------------------Pepe------------------

    ------------Deco----------Tiago----------

    -----C. Ronaldo------------------Simão---

    -------------------Liedson----------------

Just a hypothetical scenario considering CQ said "Denmark always plays in a 4-4-2 but won against Sweden in a 4-3-3."
I'm sure it means nothing, but I'm just adding speculation through a formation that barely anyone referred so far.

There are a couple of black players (or mulatos if you will) close to the national team like Patrick Mtiliga, Simon Poulsen and Mark Nygaard but they have not been selected for this game. But they have all been capped for the national team. The first black player for Denmark was Carsten Detlevsen in the beginning of the 90ties- we are a little short of black footballplayers up here

I think something got lost in translation... what he really said was : "We have to give him as little room as possible and make some small free kicks... and then just "smack him down" (should probably more correctly be translated as being "rough on him") one single time, without getting a yellow card. It's the first 3 actions that will take him out (of the game)"...

Guys, what is the best result for Portugal in the Sweden - Hungary match today?
    A tie (I would think)?

Both teams need to lose :D:cool:

I read on an ealier post about Cristiano and Simao up front. I like that forward line. Both are quick, good with both feet and have a knack for scoring goals (Cristiano mostly with his club team, but hey, i'm going with a "glass half full" attitude today).

We are a country of 10 million. What we've done alone in the past 10 years is remarkable. We've overachieved considering our resources. As have the Dutch.

I know but all i know is right now our team should be qualifying to the WC

we always had good teams in the 90s and we didnt qualify to any world cups, 1994 we had CARLOS FAILROZ in charge

There is absolutely no denying that CQ IS the reason we've been sucking complete ass. Coaches have a large hand in what goes on. He just can't cut it. He's a great assistant. He can read the game better than most coaches, but he just isn't the type of leader a team like that needs. Especially a team like that which is going through a re-building phase. If we do end up qualifying, expectations should be rightfully low for the finals.

If it is that I am not impressed. I rather have either Maniche or Veloso in there for Meireles. And having Ronaldo and Simao at the striker system is odd? Why bring in Liedson if we are going to lineup wingers there... Liedson should be in for Simao.

What really worries me is that we aren't going to have any width with that team...

Good luck, guys! Portugal must qualify for WC, no doubt. You have real men in your team i.e. Bruno Alves. I like him very much, this lad always plays with heart. Now you have Liedson he can solve problems in attack. Will be following game on RTPi. Come on, you can do it!
