With some very tough games on our remaining schedule we very much need to take three points from this match. For some reason KC has always played us tough, Right now there playing poorly but like any wounded animal they can be lethal. Hopefully we will see Janny get some time to help his game fitness and get the theam all on the same page.
Wizards haven't won a league game since they beat us in KC, June 13th. Since then, they're 0-5-2. Their only two positive results include their tie here at Foxboro, where we can't seem to beat them. They haven't scored in their last four games, being outscored 10-0. They've been outscored 12-1 in this 7 game streak. This has to be a win for the Revs.
I guess the pre-game threads will be a good place for me to post this, since it will change every week. Here's how results around the league would affect our playoff chances: Week 25 Revs vs. KC: Revs win +10.0%, KC win -17.3%, Draw -6.1% Dallas vs DC: Dallas win +1.4%, DC win -2.4%, Draw +0.2% Colorado vs. Toronto: Colorado win +0.0%, Toronto win -1.0%, Draw +0.4%
Yeah, remember a few years back when we dropped a big home game to a new and utterly pathetic RSL. This is the exact type of game we'd drop.
I hate to say it but it's games against teams doing as badly as KC is doing that scare me the most. Players are human and it's hard not to look past a team doing this badly. Ask the Patriot players that went to finish the season against an almost winless team in Miami a few years ago. FOCUS GUYS___FOCUS.
Revs do have a history of playing crappy in games they should win. Lets hope they can change that and take another 3. If I was Nicol I'd be driving this into the players skull all week, Anything less than 3 pts, at home, against a terrible KC team is unacceptable!
Revs have some good momentum and although KC is having a bad stretch they cannot be taken lightly. They have played decent against the Revs all year and still has a shot at playoffs, the Revs are a good target for them to get into the mix. Hopefully Jank will be back in the fold and can keep Joseph in the DM role. The Revs win 1-0, but it's going to be ugly
my stepmum won 8 tix to this match, and i happened to have planned on visiting this weekend anyway... Looks like I get to see the revs play live once more on top of that, someone has offered me a ticket (free) to the revs/pinkcow game on the 18th! 2 rev games live in one month??? I can't wait!
I don't see the Revs taking KC lightly. There is as much animosity between them than any other team the Revs have faced this year. For whatever reason (expansion leading to fewer matchups?), we don't seem to have built up any *extra* emotional stuff against the usual rivals (DC, Chi, NJ). But, KC, otoh, ... And, there's a pretty good amount of roster competition for playing time, so that helps guys stay on their toes.
people already make fun of my scarf collection - i only have 3 footy ones in it but yeah.... so many scarves, so little use for them in the summer!!! i'll have to try and make it to see you all... see if i can sneak into your section... we'll see how it goes
Unfortunately I won't be at this game, I have a family thing this weekend.(Damned relatives know bloody well I have soccer and still they screw up my schedule!!!) You shouldn't have a problem getting into the Fort, they haven't been checking tickets lately. I will bring you a MR scarf to New York(well New Jersey really), look forward to seeing you again.
Can anyone confirm EJ has been practicing this week? We need him back up top. As Monty implied, for whatever reason KC plays well at Gillette. I don't get it but hopefully we'll extend their winless streak. Anything less than a win just won't cut it.
it is just me or have we seen an unusual number of abductor and hamstring injuries this season? It feels like at any given time we have 5-7 guys listed as questionable, probable or out with these injuries. Seems a bit odd.
From an email I just received: The entertainment does not end when the final whistle blows on Saturday night. The Revolution are kicking off the holiday weekend with a special fireworks show over Gillette Stadium after the game. This is your chance to join some Revolution players, enjoy complimentary ice-cream and get a close up view of the fireworks from the V.I.P. Fireworks Zone. Entry to the V.I.P. Zone is just $15 and space is very limited so don't wait to reserve the best seat in the house for the show. To reserve your space in the V.I.P. Fireworks Zone, please call 1-877-GET REVS. On behalf of everyone at the New England Revolution, thank you for your continued support I'm sure we'll see them just fine from the Riders lot.
These injuries are clearly caused by the lack of a shirt sponsor. I'm sure the medical literature would back me up.
And player access, just imagine: Eating ice cream... with Wells Thompson! Despite this huge reason to pony up the $15, I find that ice cream and beer are a really poor combination, so I'll pass.
Depends on the beer and ice cream: Rogue Chocolate Stout with some nice french vanilla ice cream makes for a damn nice "Ice Cream Float"
Just the thought of that made my stomach do an act of rebellion. Your idea may get high marks for creativity but it's just WRONG.
