Have yall heard about this yet? Somebody told us about it at the game last week, he had heard about it from his rep... two for one season tickets, sort of, if you renew in September (don't the renewal promotions come earlier every year?) I say "sort of" because it looks like you don't get an extra ticket for every ticket you have, just one per package that you have. So whether you have one or six season tickets, I guess you'll get one set of season tickets for free. Whatever, it's a great deal, I think. Also, you have to renew the same number you had this year, you can't count the free one as part of your regular number. The only thing they're not clear about is where the extra ticket will be. It doesn't clearly say they're in the same section that you already have. Not that there are any really bad seats or really cheap seats they would try to give away, but it would be nice to get one in your same section. But who's complaining? I wonder if this has anything to do with attendance counting, you know, they give away a ticket so it counts in the attendane? But maybe it would work against the numbers, too, I bought two that I need, there's no guarantee I'll always be able to bring that third guy. But maybe I don't need to worry about it, and just be excited about my free season ticket. I don't have any idea what this website is, and I don't know why they have it here before it's out on the Dynamo site. But since other people told me about it last weekend, and since it looks like a Dynamo press release, I think it's legit. http://www.oursportscentral.com/services/releases/?id=3895431
Lol I just spotted that press release too. I think it's a great way to have an extra ticket to bring a friend that hasn't experienced a game. I wish it would have gone through the end of October so that it would have given people roughly as much time as last year to get their money ready. Note that the offer only gives you an extra ticket for MLS league games, so that extra ticket wouldn't be for ASG/CCL/Superliga/playoffs.
Not a bad promotion but it doesn't encourage me too much. I don't know many people who would be willing to go to a Dynamo game that don't already. I don't think I'll be renewing my season tickets early this season. I'll wait a bit.
Because I'm a broke ass grad student and I'm only going to renew early if I'm sufficiently incentivized to do so. If not, I'll just wait till the off-season when (maybe...hopefully) I'll have more money.
Got it. I thought it was a protest or something. Maybe when we get the details of this deal, you could get somebody to split your ticket, then they get one free.
Well, one season ticket, not just one game ticket. That's pretty much what was expected from the beginning. Unless I'm missing something from your post.
i am currently a game-to-game guy, althought i do go to every single game (just don't have one big stack of $$ for a season tix). i'll buy the extra set; give me an offer that i can't refuse.
I can't see how they can guarantee a ticket in your section. Can I trade this in for another jersey, that fits...? I'll still renew.
Spoke with my ticket rep this afternoon - for current STHs, renew and pay for all current seats by 9/30 and receive 1 additional season ticket for all regular MLS season games, will not include the all-star game or playoffs for this extra seat (current STH booklet will include them.) Additional seat might not be right next to your current seats depending on what's currently available (determine that with your ticket rep) but he said they will try to get it as close as possible.
Well that's cool. It's really a good deal. I might be wrong, but I think I remember seeing another MLS club offering two for one a couple of years ago, is this a common thing? Does anybody know? Not that it really matters, just wondering if it's a "wow, Dynamo are really creative" or "yea, been there done that."
I agree. And then how would this work? You have a single extra ticket all the way across the stadium? Take a friend and they sit alone? Or will they be asking people to change locations to keep the extra seat and the season ticket in the same section? This sounds like a great idea but logistically, and financially it doesn't seem very doable. How many season ticket holder accounts are there anyway? Anyone know? You have to figure that even if it is something like 1,000 STH "accounts" that's still 1,000 tickets per game that they can't sell in any way. I suppose if it's true, the gamble would be that the person who used the "free ticket" through 2010 would get hooked and pay for the ticket in 2011. That's questionable. I'd love an extra ticket cause it seems like we're always buying extras anyway. But this seems like an awfully big kind of renewal give-away.
I think there is method to their madness, especially if all the seats are together. For me this next season it means I will always have that seat available for either my son or daughter when they are able to attend. Chances are good that I will end up renewing all 4 seats for the next season, instead of just the 3 I have now.
I haven't renewed yet (still waiting to find out on the extra ticket location) but I forgot to ask if the price has changed....wondering if there will be an increase to "make up" for the additional tickets????
I was a game-to-game person. Between the 4-packs and NASA group dicount I was able to go to all the games for less than STH price, but with the free reg season ticket, STH gift, and the MLS All Star Game ticket that will be enough to get me to buy 2 Season Tickets. I'll be ordering
I renewed mine this afternoon and got extra ticket one seat away. work with your rep (if you call on phone) and see where the nearest ticket is to where you sit. there are alot of onesies twosies to pick up. first come first served of course, but rep was quick with the extra ticket options. good luck to all!
If they keep this up, then eventually at the new stadium they can all be together. Somebody should inquire if there is a fee that can be paid to get the same seat for the all star game and playoffs.
I suspect that the All-Star game will be at Reliant so ticket distribution for that game will be a little different. And if you are reserving a seat for the entire season at Robertson it shouldn't be too hard to pay for that seat at the non-covered games.
I haven't even looked, but somebody told me that the tickets on their account manager had gone up from last year. But I think it sort of depends on when you first bought your tickets, I don't think mine have gone up since I bought mine when they first went on sale before '06.
Ticket prices about the same, if not exactly so; extra charge for Reliant All-Star game tickets or deposit. Not clear what it means but that is why the tix look more expensive.
tickets have in fact gone up for the upcoming year. not by much however. it equals an extra .50 a game. my rep said this was due to having to pay for all star game. total increase for me for two tickets was something like $30. ticket increase should not keep anyone from re upping. if it does, then you are cheaper than me and i didn't think that was possible.
