When: September 2, 2009, 7:30 PM Where: RFK What: We Win Trophies! TV: FSC Radio: Usual suspects. Let's begin this thread by reliving Seattle's sports history: and finally And remember: Jim Zorn went to work for Dan Snyder so he'd have a chance at winning. Kurt Cobain went sober, discovered he lived in Seattle and killed himself. I'm suspending the rule against personal attacks on Seattle, their fans, etc. It's a cup final. Seattle (and other teams) fans be warned: I'm a biased referee. You don't get to respond.
******** you seattle die in fire you bandwagon running bitches? where were all you heroes when seattle drew 3k people in USL? if anything mls saved seattle from tiny crowds but nothing can save them from tiny minds. you have never won shit! you have no credibility, shut the ******** up
Seattle til' they die...starting in 2009. Until then, it was Seattle, when we could be bothered. They'll join the 'Sonics in Oklahoma in another decade or so. VAMOS UNITED! We want to keep our ********ing cup.
The First MLS club to win USOC back to back. Yet another the first tradition continues!!! Can't wait for this game.
I'm the first to say Seattle's trophy cupboard is sparse. If I'm counting correctly we've won 3 top-tier professional championships: 1. NHL's Stanley Cup (yes, Seattle once had a team that won the Stanley Cup back in the WWI days). 2. NBA with the now departed Sonics in the late 70s 3. WNBA Seattle Storm And there you have it. Thankfully Seattle has some beautiful scenery and outdoor activities to help us not worry about things like that. And we have the Sounders, which has been the one sports team that has consistently challenged for titles in whichever league it has been. I'm hoping the Cup game will be as entertaining as our first meeting earlier this year.
Simply time to deliver a beat down to the NKOTB's RFK style, and teach some overreaching wannabe franchise and their fans the difference between challenging and actually finishing the deal and winning. Best to show respect to your predecessors before you start thumbing your nose, no matter how many supporters you may possess. Maybe ease your way into a Cup or two, just to get the feel of it. But I'm not worried, we'll hear the silence in Seattle all the way here in the East after this result. Check our record on championships won at home. And dread the despair of becoming our next victim. Vamos United. Vamanos.
Even I am not old enough to remember this team, but I did watch quite a few Seattle Totems hockey games when I was a kid growing up in Seattle (along with Sonics game with Downtown Freddy Brown and Spencer Haywood, and Husky games with Sonny Sixkiller QBing) - but the only trophies I ever saw anyone from Seattle ever get was in Hydroplane Racing, many with the only "winner" Hanauer in Seattle, Chip!
USL-1? Anyway, after a solid performance and a little fire against the Fire, I like our chances at home against Seattle. They aren't too good on the road and we are good at home when not playing Mexican teams.
I am so looking forward to seeing Seattle go down like $2 whores!!! Bunch of smack-talking, latte drinking stoners.
Fscking newbs who think the sport didn't even exist until they noticed it this year, and act that way -- even though they had a team there before that they couldn't be bothered to support. News flash Sounders fans: real fanhood comes when you've experienced crushing disappointment and stuck through it. We desperately need to give them the opportunity to experience that kind of disappointment. Kindest thing we can do for them, really.
For a team that wins so many trophies, I bow before you. Us? We act like a bunch of whiny little brothers. Good luck on Wednesday.
Why are all these Latte babies posting on our board? Hope Ben rips them a new one! Good luck to Seattle.
