Lass is turning into quite the buy.

Having a DM with his technical skill is great.

Did you just notice that? I thought the general consensus was that he was best player in the second half of last season.

No, but it seems like he still has potential to get even better.

Yea, definitely one of them. I am surprised by the goal, and what a golaso it was, but not by his effectiveness. He continues to impress me more and more. He seems to me to be truly world class now. :)

    Lass is a monster.

Benzema is well on his way to reaching his mega crack potential.

Albiol may end up being one of Perez's best purchases.

Really looking forward to Saturday. I have a feeling Depor aren't going to be too thrilled when all is said and done.

So I just finished watching the match (stupid RMTV sound keeps going out of sync) and impressed with everyone, but Raul. I admire and realise his what his skills can bring, his goal hunting and so on, but is it just me who thought that he look a little old on that pitch? It's terrible of me I know, but I was not even happy when he scored. I feel that he needs to do less than others to warrant a place in the team. I admit to myself I may be sounding a bit fickle, but I just want to see Higuain in the lineup.

Also, does anyone have a video of the Salgado tribute and the presentation of the new players?

I like the look of our new number 10. If CR9 is worth 96m euros, what price lass?!!amazing performance: runnig, tackling, close control, passing - he has everything - and what a goal too. Travesty that he didn't win motm (wouldn't happen with all perez's new signings playing though....)

Other than that a easy win against poor oppostion. good early signs of us starting to gel as a team however not convinced that a 4-4-2 gets the best out of either cr9 or kaka. raul playing a traditional ss role is playing in the space that both kaka and cr9 like to occupy. something to think about. i actually want to see us play without raul in a 4-3-3, cr9 inside right, benz central and robben or higuain inside left with kaka roaming in fron of lass-alonso.

other things to mention are garay who looked very calm and composed and marcelo who is gaining confidence by the day and looking better for it.

    roll on saturday!!!

    Really enjoyed this one:

    - great posession play and patience in the build up
    - Arbeloa's play on defence and offense....
    - Impressive shooting all around
    - Raul and Kaka working hard defensively
    - Marcelo was decent

If Pellegrini is allowed to work in "peace"....we should have an amazing team for the 2-3 years!!!

p.s - give ronaldo a break....even all mighty zidane struggled when he first joined us

I hope CR9 prooves you wrong on Saturday. I watched him play for the last 2 years and he has earned great respect. I don't know what Lass has done in the last 2 years. If he is so good why wasn't he footballer of the year. Preseason means nothing. Let see what happen in regular season. Kaka and Ronaldo will show their worth when it counts and why they demand a big price.

Odlanorc, take a deep breath now... no need to take every word in a post to heart like that. Sometimes people are sarcastic or witty or ironic; you'll learn the personalities.

    Oh, welcome.

I personally, have great respect for young Lass as well, (See what I did thar?) and love all the players of Real Madrid, so to put down Lass who had a phenomenal game to defend Ronaldo who was at best okay(Especially when you compare it to his high standards,) is wrong in my opinion.(Not singling you out or anything, just speaking generally.)

    Anyways, welcome to the forum.:D

I dont expect all the big signings to always have a great game. I am good as long as enough of them have the kind of performance that wins us the games we need, resulting in silverware at the end of the season.

CR, Kaka, etc firing on all cylinders in preseason, and then all simultaneously dipping in form later on e.g. CL knockout, is a recipe for trophylessness.

Each one of them was the key player on his old team and won them silverware. Thus a handful of them should be able to deliver for us. I just want the overall team performance to be as high as needed to succeed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with the win in all but its only Rosenborg that we beat. I hope that we can continuosly do this thoughout the year.

Farewell Salgado! Loved how all of the fans were bowing down chanting "Salgadoooo, Salgadoooo" before the match.
