    It's the WPS CHAMPIONSHIP baybee!

To put a damper on things, there's no live TV in the NYC area, because MSG would rather air taped crap instead. The game will air on 2 hour delay on MSG+. Pitiful.

I would not consider myself in Sky Blue territory, but someone does. I will not be able to see the game till 10PM EST. So I will not be able to broadcast on Justin.tv.

Don't know where we will get a live feed for this game.

You need satellite TV - DirecTV or Dish. This is when you need a good soccer bar. Call around, ask your friends.

The list of the Fox stations with coverage of the game is here. Satellite packages vary but a sports bar with a sports package must have a couple of these stations in their package. I'd look for Prime Ticket; - that's the one that carries a couple of the LA teams like the Dodgers or Kings, I believe.

    About the game.

LA has been head and shoulders above the rest of the league for the entire season. The Sol let the foot off the gas pedal a bit towards the end, haven't played at all for two weeks nor a meaningful game in over a month.

That said, NRWOFC should be happy to get out of HDC with less than a 3 goal deficit, truly echoing last year's lurch to the final by their professional brothers.

0-2-1 against LAS during the season with the last meeting being a nil-nil draw back in June. Zero goals for; three against.

I think the only thing you can do to try to watch this live is try the following:

    justin.tv -- http://www.justin.tv/
    and tvu -- http://www.tvunetworks.com/

You don't have to download any software for justin.tv (to my knowledge) but you do for tvu.

I have broadcast on justin.tv in the past - but I am in a tape delay until 10pm EST. I really hope someone else will broadcast it.

Hopefully next year this won't be such a big problem.

To paraphrase Rodney Dangerfield: Christie Rampone, Jersey Girl, don't get no respect. All this '99er stuff - Rampone IS a '99er!

1999: A member of the 1999 Women's World Cup championship team, she played in one match against North Korea ... The versatile defender played in 18 matches for the USA in 1999, starting eight ... 1998: a solid starter in the defense for the national team in 1998, starting 14 of her 19 matches and playing 1,164 minutes ... Started both matches as the USA took the gold medal at the 1998 Goodwill Games ... 1997: Started 16 of 18 games for the USA in 1997, finishing third on the team in minutes played ... soccertimes.com

I have no idea why she played in only one game at the 1999 WC...I do know Tony D was the coach..................

She is leading the underdogs and when I see the job she has done I can't help but think of Bill Murray and his tremendous 'locker room' speeches from Meatballs and Stripes.

    Go Sky Blue!

Because she was a very young player (23yrs old) who had only recently been converted to a right back by Tony*. Oh yeah, the best right back in the world at the time (and arguably ever) was on the USA 1999 team. Joy Fawcett. Perhaps you've heard of her?

*She had been a forward throughout her career but Tony thought she would have more potential to be a national team player if she played defense. I think he might have been right w/ that choice.

I was a fan in 1999, but my memory is poor. Records show Kate (Sobrero) Markgraf was about 1 year younger than Christie and had 23 caps vs. Christie's 48 caps going into the WC. Tony went with Kate and we won, hard to argue.

Along with Kate the other three defenders were Joy Fawcett, Carla Overbeck and Brandi Chastain (139 caps, 142 caps and 82 caps prior to 99 WC).

I know I started it with my backhand at Tony D, so perhaps this crack was deserved, but I think he did a terrible job with the Breakers this year.

Because combined, the FOX sports channels are available in a lot more homes.

Of course, they could have aired the match live instead of delayed, which a lot of those channels (including NYC's) are.

Early pressure by NRWO. LAS had a nice counter off the first NRWO CK.
