I'm excited with the Ibra addition, just thought that the "Samu misses sitters" compilation was a little over the top, all strikers could have an unfriendly compilation made. Really just making a joke.

Just hope Ibra can score or assist on one here to tie it up.

Ultra defensive teams piss me the ******** off.

This is how all English teams play against Barcelona and it's unacceptable.

How English teams have such huge fan bases, not necessarily English, beats me.

Good showing though. We hit the post twice. And Ibra missed a few sitters but its pre season. Im sure Ibra will look better. There were a few moments where Messi and Ibra had trouble communicating as well.

I like what Pep is doing with the Cantera though.

yes, well said, lots of talent in the cantera and in that tall forward with the big nose, and in Yaya as attacking mf, and at the team still dominating possession w/o Xavi or Iniesta, the short right winger in the 2nd half looked good too

that's it, I am out of here and out of CA for 2.5 weeks, off the computer too but will try to watch from Austria and Munich. May even catch Bayern v. Wolfsburg live on the 29th.

Overall, I think we played pretty well. I'd like to see Ibra drop back and combine with the midfielders more when the defense is playing deep.

We had a few good chances and just didn't finish any. We generally give up at least one-on-one against our keeper a game so it wasn't too much of a surprise that it happened in this one, as much as it frustrates me.

Maybe we finally see the "full frontal attack" aka HIM this Saturday?

BTW, if it makes you all feel any better, ManU lost to Burnley today in a game that actually counts.

For me the Gamper doesn't really mean much, it's nice tradition to win but we've won it 33 times and Cologne are next with 2! We should let teams win Good showing but need more penetration at times. Ibra and Messi connected really well. Not impressed by Assulin, prefer Pedro and Jeffren.

The European SuperCup is the one I want badly, the Sevilla loss still shocks me

ManU doesn't matter to Barca anymore. At least not until they find a solid DM, and I'm not sure any are available atm. It's all about Liverpool, Chelsea and LPB this season.

Not to judge to quickly, but seriously, Ibra lived up to his "lazy" rep today, holy shit all he did was stand around, did he run off the ball at all? Then when he got the ball he looked so surprised.

Honestly, I thought my friends were just ribbing me about how lazy he is but I can see they weren't...

It's going to be a real problem if he continues to play like that because Pep's system relies on constant pressure to get the ball back.

Not to the level of English sides who rely more on the physical aspect of the game rather than the technical. A physical player could easily shove the most accomplished dribbler off the ball if he happens to be of leaner physique.
The problem I see here is that English teams know how to play against Barcelona and are usually successful with the exception of the champions league final against an over-confident manchester united who went all out from the start. I just hope Pep has a plan B next time when facing a similar side in an important match.

Of course Iniesta and Xavi's absences are notable as they give the side an extra gear in which to operate and the players did not make much of the few opportunities to score.

Barcelona needs a more accomplished left winger in the rooster. There was a huge gap down the left flank that could have easily been exploited by a better winger. Henry is too old and prone to injury so I wouldn't count on him to last the entire season.

What about Manchester City?

First of all, I'd like to thank jfcule and ViscaElBarca for helpin me change the proxy...thanks to u guys, i got to watch the perfect stream of the game..

anywyas, yea, we lost, but it's not the end of the world...it's just a friendly, and it was treated as a friendly..Had we gone all out with our starters, we woulda def. won the game...Ibra didn't have a spectacular debut, but let's give him some more time....and he needs to start runnin more....and i would like to give my special words of appreciation to JDS...That kid has impressed me since the first game he played...He will only get better with time...anyways, let's beat Bilbao and win the Super Copa now..
