I really don't want to go into each individual player's threads and ask (I have looked a bit). But is there any chance that the guys that trained and played in Mexico will miss this weekend because they are still quarantined? Obviously, if they get sick, I would expect them to miss. But with the incubation period being 24-48 hours, I would assume they would be able to make the games (provided they show no signs of the flu). Eh?
Good question. Are there any conspiracy theories out there about how these guys contracted it? hope it wasnt from something thrown at them
the quarantining is extensive too. i know some kids who went on a group trip who were exposed to swine flu and they were quarantined for 2 or 3 weeks. a doctor friend says a week is the stand MO right now. how obnoxious is this...the seasons are just starting for most of these guys and they're potentially out a week WITH NO HUMAN CONTACT. no games, no training, no nada. mexico just keeps biting us in the ass.
2-3 weeks was probably early on i believe if there is any quarantining going on it will only be for a couple of days the incubation period for the swine flu is 1-2 days... thus longer than 2 days shouldn't be needed for a quarantine period
Hannover's director siad he's going to write a letter to the US federation to complain that they weren't informed about Donovan having H1N1. Cherundolo went out and had dinner with our CB Vinicius before they knew about it. Vinicius is quaratined now as well.
Thats an overreaction to the current situation, unless Cherudolo or Vinicius is showing symptoms no need to quarentine them. If you quarentined every medical personnel who had contact with someone with H1N1 then there wouldn't be any nurses or physicians able to work in any ER in the country
Jozy's still in the US, and not playing tomorrow. Got a feeling its worry about the swine flu, despite the official reasoning about the work permit
It appears that the strong arming tactics of the UN have now taken a foothold in the European Soccer World.
Any idea if the other England based players are back with their teams? It seems pretty dubious that Jozy has work permit problems after having it approved last Monday.
Umlauts too. Relax Francis! By the time players met in Miami, it's fairly likely Donovan couldn't even pass it to Cherundolo. To play it safe, toss 'em some antibiotics, let 'em relax at home for a couple days, and move on with life. The Hannover guy's acting similar to Chinese health officials who have quarantined some people for 2 weeks. Imagine being stuck in a carpy Chinese motel eating bad variants of Chinese food.
Which would go back to missing games this weekend. Which was what I was getting at when the thread started.
shows you how desperate that team is: they wanted the team to test positive for pigcold - they could hold off playing for another couple weeks. How bad does Milan look?
Shouldn't he be writing letters to us fans instead, apologizing for the crappy way the team has been playing?? Just a thought...
I'm no medical profesional, but how will antibiotics help someone get over the HIN1 influenza VIRUS. Unless someone becomes ill and is having respiratory issues (with a chance of secondary infection), I'd bet my money that antibiotics won't do much.
I'm not a medical professional, yet information I read from the CDC appeared to suggest antibiotics may have some relevancy for H1N1. Acknowledging it's a virus, perhaps it was just a reference to treating some related or resulting symptoms in some people. I didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but anyone reading this site believing they're always getting reliable information may benefit more from psychoanalysis than an anti-viral or anti-biotics.
Well, to be fair quarantined is maybe the wrong word, 96 is using "isolated". They had to call off last week's first game of the season of the 2nd team because of the virus so they're a little bit more cautious now than other teams I guess. I'm pretty sure they are not going to isolate them for two weeks.
Bradley was tested yesterday, but I haven't heard anything about the result yet. Anyway, I think it would only be the difference between bench and tv chair in his case.
Folks, the application of psychological diagnostic categories to the populations of entire countries is both about 80 years out of date, theoretically speaking, and likely to give offense, even when none is intended. Which is why you might not find your post here when you've come looking for it.
