Here Here, I've allways expressed my objection to him being captain.

This was Scolari's way of screwing up all the good he had done, and leaving us without leadership. Carvalho should be the captain, and let's hope Queiroz now sees the light.

Because he got sick in DC, perhaps? He looked horrible halfway through the first half of that game, but RM was under contract with both clubs that the new signings had to play.

I don't think you get why everyone is upset at his actions.

    1.) He's captain,
2.) All he had to do is pick up the phone, and call the manager.

No one would ever question his ethic then.

    Official lineup according to OJOGO...

    -----------------Eduardo----------------
    Bosingwa---Carvalho---Alves---Duda
    ------------------Pepe-------------------
    ---------Deco------------Meireles------
    Tiago-------------------------------Simao
    -----------------Almeida-----------------

    Subs:

    12 Beto GR

    16 Moreira GR

    14 Miguel LD

    13 Rolando DC

    15 João Moutinho MO

    17 Nani AD

    18 Eliseu AV

Personally, Id put Deco at RW and Tiago in the midfield, but CQ chose Tiago to replace Ronaldo. Cant wait for Liedson on the NT.

That lineup makes me want to poo. It's so awful in so many ways that I want Portugal to lose 8-0.

But then Madaíl will step in and say it was "bad luck" and that CQ "need time".

Btw, yesterday night I was watching reviews of Ligue 1 and it showed Kévin Gameiro scoring a goal for Lorient. Best scorer of the team last season with 11 goals.

As far as I know, in FM 2009, he is eligible for Portugal.

This guy is young and have nice attributes. Isn't it possible to test him out and see if he can be our 3rd option as a striker?

Dude Kevin Gameiro is already representing France u21... hes a sick forward but im sure france are smart enough to keep him tight. Plus atm compare France and Portugal. 1 world cup and 1 eurocup in the past 11 years... us no titles. France are shit atm but we are worse.

I trust in our under 21 squad that is reboosting.
Coentrao Yazalde Adrien S. Rui Fonte Rui Pedro etc.

One website says Eliseu is playing for Ronaldo. 2 others say Tiago in for Ronaldo.

I love the fact Tiago is starting, but at RW? I want to see Tiago in midfield at RCM and Deco as RW.

Tiago will fail horribly going forward at RM. He will always slowly make his way into the central midfield, and simply bunch things up. Its going to get congested in there boys...lol

This next month is going to be very nerve racking for Portugal.

The game is starting, the lineup looks like a mess.

    Here is a stream.

Clear oppertunity for Almeida right in the 2nd minute, a cross from Tiago puts in right on the head of Almeida 5 yards from goal, but he heads it directly towards the goalkeeper...

Well Tiago had a great cross right in the frst few seconds so we'll see. Deco would be RM, Tiago in the middle but no complaints so far.

I m going to watch the rest of it later. Portugal tend to play better without Ronaldo lately... Maybe we should consider using him as a CF so the Midfield gels better.

Anyways, looks like Almeida has solidified his starting spot on the team come Sept 6th.

Tiago has really surprised me, he doesn't provide width, but he has been playing very well.

The team looked very good playing in a 4-4-2 formation with Simao in the free role/second striker.

    Forca Portugal!!!!

I was only able to watch bits and pieces of this game. Cant make much out of it really. Our opponent does not really pose a challenge (nor should it) so this is more like a glorified practice (as it should be ) for Portugal. Hopefully our players are more comfortable as a team and grow from here.
