    List called up for Friendly

    Guarda-Redes:

    Defesas:
    Bosingwa (Chelsea FC)
    Bruno Alves (FC Porto)
    Miguel (Valencia CF)
    Pepe (Real Madrid CF)
    Ricardo Carvalho (Chelsea FC)
    Rolando (FC Porto)

    Médios:
    Deco (Chelsea FC)
    Duda (Sevilla FC)
    João Moutinho (Sporting CP)
    Raúl Meireles (FC Porto)
    Tiago (Juventus FC)

    Avançados:

    Hugo Almeida (SV Werder Bremen)
    Nani (Manchester Utd)
    Simão Sabrosa (Atlético Madrid)

    Last Five Games:

    Portugal: W-D-W-W-D

    Suitable Line-up:

    -------------------------------Beto------------------------------------

    Bosingwa-----------Bruno---------Pepe----------------------Duda

    -----------------------Tiago-------Raul M.-----------------------------

    Ronaldo-------------------Moutinho----------------------Simao

    ---------------------------Almeida-----------------------------------

    Prediction: 4-0 Portugal WIN

Estonia was a poor game but if we are trying out our strong eleven for Denmark then we should easily bag some goals. Almeida is going to try to prove that he should be our striker not Liedson and Ronaldo has changed his game in real madrid as they play more passing and less on the wings.

    Opinions?

Put Deco instead of Moutinho, to give him play time and we are all set.
We need Deco in full form against Denmark.

Yesterday after a tackle from Terry, and he fell awkwardly but he's still traveling with the NT.

CR likely will most likely miss the match with flu symptoms.

CQ also said that Liedson might play in this friendly or after (i'm not sure) if he gets his ID on time.

He doesn't have his citizenship so i highly doubt it, even for the upcoming qualifiers. Which after that might be too late anyway.

Now that I would be strongly against, he should just be treated like anyone else.

Nani still traveled with the team despite dislocating his shoulder. I expect huge things from him this season at Manchester United... I think he might shine better then Ronaldo at Real.

Well CQ admits to calling him up as soon as he's a portuguese citizen.

I wouldn't mind seeing that, but it's probably a bit too optimistic. We do need somebody to step up and compliment Cristiano. Who will it be (if anyone)?

Ya I have to admit that athletes getting special treatment does bother me too but it does happen quite a bit. I remember my father on a waiting list for an important medical test to be done and reading that a certain hockey player from our city was able to get it the next day. Just does not seem fair, that is for sure.

    CR is definitely out.

Simaozinho, and Deco need to step up a couple of notches.

At least it's just a Friendly and not a WCQ. Besides, Portugal, even without CR and Nani, should be able to contain Mario Frick and his boys. It doesn't make sense though, that a team with the quality of Portugal has struggled (relatively speaking, of course) against a team like Liechtenstein in recent match-ups.

Ronaldo's doctors actually thought he displayed swine flu (h1n1, gripe A) symptoms.....It turns out it was just an STD that Paris Hilton gave him last month in LA.

This Record article isn't clear about the indirect messages to C.R.

    http://www.record.pt/noticia.aspx?i...&idCanal=00000488-0000-0000-0000-000000000488

Apparently Madaíl and CQ are unpleased with the way R. Madrid informed the FPF about CR's condition. Not only did they answered after much insistence but they were also vague about it.

I could see through the TV news that some indirect messages were launched to CR and his lack of commitment.
I can see why...R. Madrid didn't send the adequate medical information apart from claiming that he has normal flu. The player says nothing about it so I believe the FPF tried to communicate with him.

It's strange, Real Madrid don't want CR's family to be with him and now they treat these sort of things in a suspicious manner. I could very well be wrong but it's possible that CR just turned "hostage" under RM hands.

Also, if he really has no flu then he's proving to lack character to be any team's leader.

    Are you surprised?
Ask Figo, Zidane or any other RM player.
Once you join them most of the contracts have clauses on image rights, and they can control a lot of what a player can or can't do under that clause.

This pansy ass mother********er shouldnt be called back to the NT but off course he will....he should atleast be stripped of the captaincy!!! Nani shows up with a dislocated shoulder and this queer stays home because he supposedly has the flu!!!! Doesnt even bother to give the coach a call!!!! Ronaldo should ask Micheal Jordan if its possible to play with the flu.......

....what Mourinho said about Ronaldo a few years ago was spot on!!!!

I agree, if puuz Queiroz had any balls he'd remove him as captain immediately.
