Definitely. And the Gio/Vela attacking duo seems lethal.

    Well played.

Yes, Mexico did play very well today and deserved to win easily, despite the horrible penalty call. More impressively, their "fans" seemed to behave themselves better (I did see one idiot run onto the field, though).

However, does anyone doubt that the USA starting 11 from the CC Final would have won this game handily?

Watching Mexico's players celebrate so wildly after the game reminds me of how pathetic people are who place such importance on the USA victories over C teams from Sweden, etc.

How does simply noting how poorly the mexican side takes losses affect my class?

I was simply happy that the US didn't recipricate their classelessness.

Losing with class takes character, winning with class is very easy.

Thanks for the class guys! It may have been half teams all around but the drought broken will hopefully mean something. Hopefully the players don't take it too far and get rocked come August. For the record, shirt pulling is shirt pulling and Gio was smart to go down! See you guys in August, here's to looking forward to a great game!

    +1

    Congrats Mexico.

TBH, I feared for you if you had lost. That and you make us better.

You brought the better team to the Gold Cup so you obviously wanted more. You earned the Cup.

Now.. I look forward to the 11 man substitution we will be making before Azteca.

I guess Goodson should have hit the dirt too.

Anyway, that's what happens when you let the other teams star run through your box w/ the ball. They're going to drop & some times it's going to get called. Gotta deny that opportunity.

Congrats on the win. A lotta great players the mix for y'all. Vela & Gio especially.

The dude I saw had a Chivas (Guadalajara) shirt. Check the Univision feed. I am guessing that he was a Mexico supporter, but maybe not...

    Re: Congratulations Mexico [R]

It was not "half teams all around". It was basically Mexico's A team minus a couple of players from the starting 11 vs. USA player #12 or #13 (Ching) and players #24-46 (at best). Glad we could help with the "drought" though. Just be prepared to see 22 (or 17 if the roster is 18, not sure about that) different players on August 12. I think that you might be surprised at how much better the "new guys" will be who show up on August 12.;)

Mexico completely outplayed the US in the 2nd half. Disappointing result but not really a big deal.

i can give Mexico their props. i thought we played well in the first half and defended well. the second half was a different story, we got rocked hard. the rivalry continues (one of the best in soccer i think) on 8/12.

Mexico will also bring their A Team for the Azteca match, in case you forgot.

    Can't wait.
