Maybe you should intentionally get sick that day. Just a thought.

After doing a little more research I have found out that the match with me on Telemundo for Spanish and mun2 for English which is channel 410 on DirecTV and 838 on Dish Network. If you don't get mun2 brush up on your Spanish or go to a soccer bar to watch it.

I remember the good old days of starting the day after labor day. Now I think the kids usually go back in mid August. I think they are starting August 19th this year which is actually late for them. It's always been on a Wednesday and always a number in the teens. Aug. 13th-19th is usually the starting date.

Why break protocol? Earn that victory in school and wait another day to watch. Trust me. It is better. An establish buisness is best for the community. I know. We're into wierd things right now but it is better.

But back on topic. That match will be a great one. Team USA probably only needs three points to advance or playoff. Team Mexico has lost three of first five (I think). CONCACAF might have a match in hand for some participants with a WCQ and Team USA plays twice at home. This is a tough year and USA is about 60% done. Thats not ten percent. Thats domination!

Players meet press and press dislikes useage of words. Its a match made in heaven, if you ask me. Nobody does so I just sit here. Waiting...Waiting... Waiting for the next poor sole to exhibit this gawd awful game and hope it makes sense. That aint never easy.

I'm off on Wednesday's too. I kept it like that because a lot of International match days are on Wednesday's and the Champions League plays half it's matches on Wednesday.

I work from home the majority of the time and pretty well make my own hours so long as I can meet deadlines and get my work completed in a timely manner.

It was really useful during the last WC... my ex wife was none to thrilled at 2am rants at the TV as we got our arses kicked though.

This mun2 thing is a problem. Check out matchfitusa.com for more info on flooding NBC's email, faxes, and the online petition.

The most important match in US Soccer history as far as gaining populatity in the states shouldn't be broadcast on a channel that no one who has satellite (sp?) can get.

I just realized that I am going to be at the beach on the 12th....
Good times, no worry about work....

Now though, I have to figure out how the hell I am going to watch the GAME!! It's not like the basic cable TV in the beach house we are renting is going to have telemudo 2

I guess my best bet is to find a tequilla bar and watch it with the enemy :D

Believe me, I can think of plenty of excuses/reasons for missing work on August 12. Unfortunately, as an elementary school teacher and, that being the first day of school in our district, I just cannot bring myself to miss work that day. (FCK!!!)

What does anyone know of a rebroadcast later in the evening?

What part of the country will you be in. If there are many spanish speaking people there Telemundo would be on free tv.

I picked up the Spanish package for the same reason (Gold Cup). It looks like I'll be keeping it until August 12th so I can watch the game on mun2.

Its ironic that you have to buy the spanish package to get a game broadcasted in english isn't it? Telemundo should offter the match in English by simply hitting the SAP button.

Why the hell is this game not on the ESPN networks they have had ever match to reach the W.C. on. Is there anything we can do to get it on ESPN or network t.v., ABC, NBC, etc. Would flooding Sunil with calls and emails do the job or would we have to flood NBC with calls and emails to get it on. This is bullshit one of the times we actually have a chance to make history and the games not on t.v. expect for dish I call party foul on this crap.

My spanish isn't great but know enough to understand a futbol broadcast. I wonder if Telemundo will be broadcasting this match in HD.

So let me get this straight. NBC/Telemundo has exclusive rights to all Mexico national games aired in the US, and those right are so exclusive that they even stretch to English language coverage? And somehow they still haven't concluded that this match might get amazing ratings in English (similar to what it will get in Spanish) if it was on a more widely received channel?

Or is the time change to blame for this? I didn't keep track of the conversations that occurred about this.

At this point flooding them with emails probably won't do much, since they probably have some contrived contractual obligation to air whatever afternoon repeat on NBC and its subsidiaries and can't replace it with the match.
