Post your desired starting XI for the new season.

    I'll start

    ---------------Abbiati--------------
    Zambrotta-T.Silva-Nesta-Jankulovski
    ------Flamini--Gattuso--Pirlo--------
    --Pato--------------------Ronaldinho
    --------------Borriello---------------

I think we have a good squad here if we were to not have any transfers at all we could secure top 4 in Serie A.

i would play that same lineup but instead play the midfield/attack like this
    flamini-gattuso
    ---pirlo-----
    pato----ronaldinho
    ----boriello/inzaghi

Actually I like that even better. It would be especially better for Hernanes who we can be safe to say he is on our way!

I dunno about janks there but how can you struggle to think if Borriello should start or Inzaghi?!

    Donnarumma?!.........:)

Janks used to play there for Udinese and I think he is more comfortable as that is his natural spot. He can be more dangerous from there moving up the wings without worrying about coming back to play D.

Even without Cissokho, why cant we play Antonini there?

I don't get why he is captain though. He doesn't deserve to be in the starting XI. Nesta should be captain

Almost the same as this, except Ambrosini would have to be in for Flamini and would probably play Inzaghi instead of Borriello, not a big fan of his.

It happens all the time, look at ManU. Ambrosini is captain because he has been at Milan longer than any other player. That's the way the captaincy works in Italy. I imagine Rino will be vice-captain so we should always have one of our captains in the starting 11.

this is the right line up for us with one problem. We still need to buy another fullback. Janks isn'y working out defensively as much as I'd like. Zambro can be shaky defensively too, so a more defensive fullback that can play either flank would be nice. If Flamini doesn't settle-in then Ambrosini is also an option. Onyewu can cover if Nesta needs rest or is injured. Bonera as cover for Silva. Favalli is past it. If Gattuso is injured we are screwed as usual.

Wouldn't abbiati be captain over nesta?

nvm- according to wiki abbiati has 122 appearances and nesta 157.

Or is it the number of years that they have been at the club? Because Ambro has fewer appearances than Gattuso (also according to wiki) but Ambro is still captain.

years at club, but abbiati has been loaned out all over, so i think it would be nesta, but regardless the formation wouldn't change.

Yeah, and didn't we get Digao back from loan as well? I'm kidding, I like Antonini, but he isn't the top draw fullback that we're missing, although he is good back-up. Maybe this could be a breakout season for him.

Here's a thought, with Gattuso back, is there any space on this squad for Beckham?

We're are trying to getting rid of Digao in Germany, he is on a trial with Freiburg, but the management of the German club stated that they are not planning of buying him, they are only interested in a loan because he earns too much.

We sold the Kakà and kept his brother, I still can't understand why...

    ^ Suicide.

ps. looking at that La Galaxy friendly, I must say that they most certainly did try to play Di Gennaro in that Pirlo role, maybe just a little more advanced than pirlo.

Abate and Zambrotta as WB? I think you have to switch them...Abate on the right and Zambrotta on the left, but I still don't think Berlusconi will give permission for this team :p

We really need Luís Fabiano to make this team work this season guys. :(
I really hope we can get him.

The thing that I hated the most about the Friendlies in the US was that Milan's midfield (Dino included) failed to provide any sort of descent service to to Borriello or Pato. Borriello especially had so few touches that it was like he wasn't even there. How can you judge a strikers performance if he's deprived of service? So I can't really weigh in on whether Milan really need a good CF, or whether we should get one but don't necessarily need an expensive player. I think we need one but maybe only to provide some competition for Borriello. We also still need a fullback, as Antonini was less than convincing in the last few games.

Those are comments that i agree with Robster, but really, since the start of his young carrer,Fabiano ALWAYS keeps coming back-n'-forth trough the whole match,he's a real fighter when it comes to giving 100% at any match.
I agree that we can't depend n' rely at all just on the creativity of a 2009-apathic-ronaldinho,but when it comes to the attack squad, Pato need a lot of improvement and Pipo can only play if we have a very, very good midfielder to link the ball straight to his bathtub. Borriello(Pato) + Fabiano(Inzaghi) would be a perfect match on my opinion. A heavyweight attack, with a lot of presence.
