Yep, the US isn't deep enough to win it with their "B" team, as long as the other federations send their "A" squads. Sure, we're at home, so we'll make it pretty far. I don't get the fans who don't want to watch this. If you're a US fan this is your chance to see the next generation of players.
porqueria de torneo, this tourney should be held in central america, until that happens, this mediocre tourney will continue to be a worthless piece of crap.this tourney has no credibility at all.
and what exactly do you mean by that? what they dont deserve to organize the tourney? what do you think only the USA can organize the tourney? i dont even want mexico organizing this,we would have to much advantage(and i want this tourney to be competitive),but if they (central america) organize it,they would have a high % chances of winning this thing, and mexico would have to take it very very seriously to win it,because if not, they (central americans) would win the title a couple of times and that would force mexico to play at its full strength,or what are you afraid of playing in central america?
How will holding the tournament in 5000 seat stadiums make it less mediocre again? Whine all you want, but the location of the Gold Cup isn't the problem.
so because central american nations have smaller stadiums they dont deserve anything, lets forget about them, they are small nations, with crappy stadiums, they dont deserve anything,is that your way of thinking? with that mentality, then lets make all world cups in EUROPE,why bother give the world cups to latin, asian,or other nations, they dont have better stadiums or money like europe. thank god fifa and REAL confederations, dont have this mediocre way of thinking
Speaking from a Caribbean point a view we need revenue for our federations more than any region in the concacaf. The U.S. hosting the GC gives CONCACAF a better percentage of generating money than it would anywhere else in concacaf.
nope, concacaf has enough money to help the caribbean nations, the problem is the amount of money that dissapears at the hands of jack and other concacaf officials.
This is going to be the third (or is it fourth?) time I ask this. Does anybody here have *any* proof that the revenues from the gold cup actually make it back to the individual federations? I keep hearing this as a reason for why it is ideal for the region as a whole to have this thing exclusively in the US and am interested in finding out how much of that money actually trickles down and is used to improve the game in the region.
Maybe it's because they don't want to host the tournament? Seriously, you people complain about the most idiotic things. Until I see a link that says Costa Rica or any other CA country wants to host the tournament, I'll never consider the US hosting this tourney all the time a problem.
or maybe the central american nations dont ask to host the tourney because they already know what will be jacks answer "NOT A CHANCE IN HELL",maybe they think if concacaf does not even give the tourney to mexico, how in hell they are going to give it to us, so i dont know how you people dont stop for a moment and think about that, and frankly i dont care if you considered it a problem or not. but then again this is CONCACRAP ,and all kinds of sh.t happens in this sorry excuse of a confederation.
Can we close this thread already? We should all know better then to expect anything good out of CON-CACA...seriously, asking CON-CACA to worry about the sport...that's a good one...
I here it all the time that Jack is a big crook. Okay lets say he is a crook, why would he want have the U.S. host the GC every 2 years? Would it be that the crook knows he'll make more money hosting it in the U.S. than anywhere else in concacaf? If i were a crook I would host it in the U.S. all the time. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Sure, and I have a feeling that's all there is to it. Which is why I ask, do those that say that hosting it in the US "helps" the other federations financially have any proof that any money actually makes it all the way down? Or is it all in fact just a money grab for Jack and friends?
Group A Preview: Canada vs Jamaica The curtain raiser for the tournament should be an exciting affair as the 2000 champions Canada take on Jamaica. After 13 games unbeaten, stretching back to September last year the Reggae Boyz will be feeling in confident mood – especially as one of those 13 matches was a 3-0 thrashing of the Canucks in a World Cup Qualifier. A good match for a start to the Gold Cup Jamaican Players to watch out for: • Ricardo Gardner (Bolton Wanderers) • Jermaine Johnson (Sheffield Wednesday) • Jamal Campbell-Ryce (Barnsley) • Marlon King (Wigan Athletic) • Ricardo Fuller (Stoke City) My Prediction: Canada 0 -3 Jamaica Costa Rica v El Salvador El Salvador faces a daunting challenge from 2002 Gold Cup Finalists Costa Rica, the nation most likely to advance from Group A. Head to Head Costa Rica has got the better of El Salvador in previous encounters. My Prediction: Costa Rica 1-0 El Salvador I don’t get the match where I live but ill be watching a live stream on omnisport.tv They are the official live streaming partner of the concacaf ( as on the Gold Cup website). Happy viewing guys!
I don't care if we win or not. I just want to see 3-4 new players and a good game. I predict Costa Rica 0-1 El Salvador
you can create a free account with bet365.com and you can watch the games here are others http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=42463&part=sports
Group B Preview: Honduras v Haiti : 4th July 19:00 EDT The Catrachos kick start their campaign against Haiti in Group B action from Gold Cup. Honduras are the likely favorites to advance from Group B. But I expect this match to be a keenly contested affair since Haiti would need a win to build their chances right from the start. My Prediction: Honduras 1-0 Haiti Grenada v USA : 4th July 21:00 EDT United States the firm favorites to win the Gold Cup are up against minnows Grenada, who make their first ever appearance at the tournament. United States bruising from the Confederation Cup final defeat at the hands of Brazil will look to make quick amends. With USA reinforcing their squad , Josmer Altidore , Freddy Adu , Charlie Davies are the ones to watch for. USA playing a relatively second string squad at the Gold Cup compared to the team which played at the Confederations Cup My Prediction: Grenada 0-2 USA USA and Honduras of course are the firm favorites to go through from Group B. Any shocks could see Haiti make a cut. After yesterday’s superb Group A games, i hope the action will live up today as well. I see all my games live streamed on Omnisport.tv. HD quality and nice replay action to all key events in a game.
Group C Preview: 5 July - Panama v Guadaloupe 2005 beaten finalists Panama will look to start their Group C campaign with a win against Guadeloupe. My Prediction: Panama 1-0 Guadaloupe 5 July - Nicaragua v Mexico Nicaragua face a daunting task against giants Mexico . Joint 4 times champions of the Gold Cup ( with USA) , Mexico will look to get their campaign off to a flying start after a terrible display at the World Cup Qualifying games in 2009. My Prediction: Nicaragua 0-2 Mexico Yesterday's group B matches were not very exicting. Im expecting a good game from Nicaragua v Mexico . I will be streaming my games on omnisport.tv as usual. Hopefully, some of you would also be watching it? Enjoy!
Group A Gameweek 2 Preview Jamaica v Costa Rica The Reggae Boyz know that only a win against Costs Rica would keep them in the contention to advance to knockout rounds. Player to watch from Jamaica: Austin & Morrison My Prediction: Jamaica 1-0 Costa Rica El Salvador vs Canada. After wins in their first Group A games , Canada and El Salvador play each other in a match which could confirm either team's chances of advancing to the knockout rounds. If the other game between Jamaica & Costa Rica ends in a draw then we would surely have one team confirmed My Prediction: El Salvador 0-2 Canada Im catching my matches at Omnisport.tv, they have a great feed in HD quality . Enjoy!
Are you saying the Costa Ricans don't need a win to advance? Oh I know what you mean they must win against CR cuz they surely ain't beating El Salvador right?
Yes, dude, we get it: you don't give a rat's ass about the tourney and that makes you "cool", I guess. There are, however, some of us that even being aware of the tourney's shortcomings still want to watch the games. It's no fun reading the same post over and over. You're entitled to your opinion (which is respectable) but let's try to be creative and post something different for a change, eh?
anyone know what happend to this game ?????? it's not on 07 Jul 2009 07:00 PM to 09:00 PM League: CONCACAF - Gold Cup Channel: Telefutura Live/Repeat: Live
