We're hoping to get a bus together for the Breakers away game in Jersey on July 4, but we want to gauge interest before we put down a deposit on a bus. The cost would be ~$55 for the bus and game ticket for Riptide members. As anyone who's ever been on a bus trip can attest, it's a great way to meet fellow soccer fans and it's guaranteed to be a good time. So, who's in? (Add your name to the list) Definitely Jackie Maybe
Definitely Jackie Karen(2 maybe 3) Matt Maybe This trip may end up serving as a make-up trip as I may have to bail on the Revs game for medical reasons.
Definitely Jackie Karen(2 maybe 3) Matt Tim Mike Maybe Julia -I have to check with the parents, but I think they'll be okay. Do we have to be a member of the Riptide?
You don't have to be a member of Riptide to join in on anything we do, whether it be a bus trip, away match viewing or just singing and chanting in The Dock on matchday... We do however offer a discount to our members on bus trips, merchandise etc. While we don't have a pricing schedule set for the bus trip yet our memberships are just $10 for an individual and $15 for a family! I might be a bit biased but it's well worth becoming a member! Even if you cannot make it on the bus trip or if you don't plan on buying a scarf etc. Your membership dollars will help Riptide in creating the kind of atmosphere that most of us enjoy watching a match in! Regardless, I hope you get the chance to join us in The Dock (Sec. 14) at some point this season! It doesn't matter what section your ticket says, you'll always be welcome to come and go from The Dock all year long!! That was something we requested of the Breakers and they obliged! The Dock is an open section so please stop by and see if it's for you!! In the meantime check out our website at www.riptide08.com
Bumping this up because we need to. St. Louis is Tweeting about this right now:$99 Athletica Inaugural Bus Trip To Chicago on Memorial Weekend. http://www.womensprosoccer.com/Home/stlouis/offthefield/events.aspx
It pains me to say that we cannot get enough interest for a bus trip to Jersey...I hope we can get a decent number of people to carpool/caravan down there. On our last trip we were talking with the new GM and he mentioned that they might change the match start time from 7:00pm to 4:00pm to make it easier for everyone to get out to the match and home at a decent hour. I had thought that this match would be a big draw for SBFC but teh GM said he didn't expect much of a crowd at all. The change might help it but they will be dead quiet regardless. While checking the schedule I noticed that this change has already been posted on the website! So anyone driving back after the match should make it home before midnight! Breakers at Sky Blue July 4, 2009 - 4:00pm Definitely Jackie Karen(2 maybe 3) Matt Tim Mike Julie If we can get a decent amount down there we will own that stadium. If we are only going to have 5 people again I'd rather not bother making the trip! On the last trip, SBFC offered dicsounted ticket deals as well as group rates at a couple of hotels. IDK if they'll have any hotel deals for the holiday weekend but I would consider staying over down there rather than attempt a drive through the city at 7pm on the 4th of July... Thoughts?
Mike, I am no longer a definite. It pains me to say that the two people above me at work in the hierarchy of power both appear to have the day off leaving me to run the place. Nothing is for certain, but I wouldn't be surprised to be working that day.
Ok. By an act of God (possibly related to yesterday's miracle) I do indeed have July 4th off and anticipate driving our President and Vice President down 95 to lovely Yurcak.
