Seems now that Shunsuke joining Espanyol is only a matter of time. His agent reached basic agreement with the Spanish club for 2 yr- & net 200 Mio. Yen-contract, and within this week the move would be announced. It will be interesting to see if Shunsuke makes himself a name there, as Spain is where he always wanted to play.

Good luck to Naka if he does finalise his move to Espanyol. It was great to watch him at Celtic Park. He was a firm fans favourite.

And regardless of some opinions I believe his time in Scotland was beneficial to both parties.

I agree he made the right choice to follow Strachan's call at a time when he really did not have much of an impact in Serie A. And, let's not forget that he might never have played against Man Utd and netted that free kick otherwise... Spain is probably more suiting his playing style but he will not achieve the status he got at Celtic. Still, it will be interesting to see how this new episode will turn out.

Playing Champion League in front of one of the best football supporters in the world is best highlight of his football career he can get.
Good luck to both Celtics and Nakamura in the future.

That would be perfect. Inamoto needs a coach who knows him from when he was best.

Ferguson have eyes on morimoto since his youth days with Tokyo Verdy. He discovered him in a youth tournament, probably during 2003 or 2004.

I hope that Morimoto goes to Manchester United, but I highly doubt it. They have some good young forwards in Welbeck and Campbell. Not to mention Macheda.

To be completely honest at this time Morimoto would be more likely to get lots of time at united. Mainly cause Ferguson is good that way with players and 2ndly because if and when he signed he'd be the 3rd best striker there behind Rooney and Berbatov to start with so he's closer to the starting lineup.

But at tottenham, they've got Pavlyuchenko, Bent and Keane who in the managers eyes would be placed before Morimoto.

And when I put it like that, to myself a move to Old Trafford would be a very good move for his career.

With 90 million+ Euros for Ronaldo Man Utd are going to spend big, especially attacking players. If Morimoto is one of them, then fine, but I think there will be another no. 3 striker coming in, probably one who is established in his NT. They can afford a player with 100%-goal-guarantee and after Tevez gone too, they will not (only) be looking for prospects. Morimoto's talent is doubtless, and his time will come anyway. Also believe he can not do anything wrong with staying one more season.

    Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R]

I reckon he'd play a lot more at tottenham, as Bent and Pavlyuchenko are both leaving, at Manure, he'd be behind Welbeck in the pecking order as well as Rooney and Berbatov. To be honest, best thing for him would be to stay where he is.

Not official but there's no more speculation that Nakamura's going to Espanyol. Pretty much confirmed unless .

RE: Nakamura & what went wrong with Marinos:
    http://pagezero.exblog.jp/10454277

This blog is quoting Japanese publication 'Weekly Soccer Magazine' and it's quite interesting what caused Shunsuke to speak to Espanyol:

    1. Photo session right after the Quatar-match
    2. Club urged Shunsuke to play against Urawa Reds on June 21 (yesterday)
    3. Without contract signed, club already produced a large amount of Shunsuke uniforms.
    4. Club charging participation fee for press conference of Shunsuke joining.

Other than that, CEO Saito wanted another decrease of Nakamura's pay. Basic term had been already agreed on half of what he got at Celtic.

...Speak about bad negotiating... any player would have gone elsewhere, all the more if there are offers like Espanyol's.

And now Nakamura joining Espanyol is confirmed officially:

Kobayashi scored the 2-0 and 3-0 in yesterday's Stabaeck's league match against Start (result: 5-0) :)

He is a right midfielder, or does he play central? I hope Kobayashi scores a lot more, and most importantly I hope that the team reaches group stage in the CL. They are to play KF Tirana (Albania) in the 2nd qualification round... and after that there is still 3rd round, but then hopefully there is no excuse for Okada to look away

Exactly. He plays winger mostly. Yeah i hope they reach CL , that would be great for both Stabaek and Daigo.
