Anybody remember that 8-year old Enric Alegre; American born (Ridgewood,NJ) kid scoring a bunch of goals(30+) for some club in Spain that was posted somewhere back in 2006. Well it appears he is now/or has been the last year or 2 with one of Valencia's youth teams still scoring 30+ goals a season. His father is labeling him a "Future US SOCCER STAR". This is good news if he turns out to be really good and his father is already deciding what national team he will play for (USA Baby!):).

Says he played for Meliana CF in 07-08...is that their youth team?
Some of these goals are nice:[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CjZ3UQCB94&feature=channel"]YouTube - Enric's best 10 goals, season 2007-2008[/ame]
He also looks a good size for his age. BTW, let's not get carried away. I am already labeling my unborn (and uncreated) son as one of the the greatest American footballers ever

When I see the title, I know it must be this kid.

I have posted this before at the Yanks Abroad Forum. At that time, he was on another team. Congratuation that he made into the Valencia CF Youth Team.

He was born in NJ, and His father subscribe the channel "ussoccerdotcom" and "mls", maybe that means somthing.

The name "Enric" is Catalan, so perhaps one parent is from Spain?

The father also subscribed to Barca's channel and someone wrote on his wall in Catalan. I would say there's a very good chance that one, if not both, of Enric's parents are Catalan.

I like his most recent goal he scored on Jan 24th; the Big video you see when you first open up his webpage(0:17). It looks like he burns the other teams sweeper by 10 feet, then waits patiently till the third bounce of the ball then simultaneously cracks it on the volley into the upper 90. That was top class for his age. And he seems to have good size for his age. The question i would like to know is; was this Valencia's U-11,U-13, or U-15. My guess would be U-11 since its his first full season at Valencia but it could possibly be U-13 or U-15.

Excuse me, but if I don't seem overwhelmed by this it's because this is the "Youth National Teams" forum, and this kid is friggin' 10 years old! OK, maybe he's better than most 10 year olds, and he's in a better soccer environment, but he's got a long way to go before he makes one of our Youth National Teams, let alone becomes a serious soccer prospect.

Maybe the mods should put an end to every stage parent coming on here with their young Tom, Dick or Harry. Off to the "Youth & HS Soccer" forum I say.

Why? It's a good example of how youth soccer at big clubs works here.

Promote them as WClass superstars, complain, whine, threaten coaches, backstab, move your son to another team, put other kids down...

At least he will have to prove he can play there, and learn the game the right way.;):D

Since i was the OP for this thread, are you saying im his Parent because of that?? Im not the first person to post about the kid it was Kingshark in 2006 in Yanks Abroad..... i just thought it was neat to have a Yank make it into a nice Youth set-up for once. Since well everybody complaines and whines this is where 10-year old's here in the US need to be at this age.

You know what I mean- I'm using stage parent in a broad sense. Look, I have nothing against the kid. In fact, quite the opposite. I'm always excited to hear about American kids playing for youth sides in good European clubs. I know how difficult that is. You just don't walk onto a team like that. But I also try to accept boundaries. I think there's a reason why the designers of this website differentiated between youth and youth national teams. This forum belongs to discussions regarding youth national teams. Some will say that I'm too serious and should cut this thread (and others like it) some slack. This thread, and others like it, sets a bad precedent. Now, what's to prevent someone else from coming on here later this week, or maybe next week, and showing everyone a You Tube video of their cousin Joe's son, with all his fancy moves. Where does it end? I just think it's time that the mods request that all future highlight reels of young players who have not yet made any youth national team or have not been invited to a youth national team camp, be posted on the "Youth & HS Soccer" forum.

That's amateur shit. I'm already the greatest American soccer player ever, as an 18 year old I led us to the 2006 World Cup while I won both the golden ball and the golden boot.

On Monday I scored and assisted 2 others in a 3-0 win over Italy in the Confederations Cup (since we won the Gold Cup, Italy was awarded a spot in the tournament based on runner up of the World Cup)

This shit goes in real time. I'll let you know how we do against Brazil later today.

Nah that was Landon, but I'll never bring it up to him. No drama in the locker room.

Part of the problem is that although there are different forums within the USA collective they're not perceived as equal in the traffic they receive or their relative influence on other fans. This forum appears to get more traffic than the 'Youth & HS Soccer' forum. And since the scope is national, the poster can reach out to a much broader audience. On the other hand, at Y&HSS if someone posts about goings-on at the Chicago Sockers, for example, how many people in the Northwest bother to read about it? So I can understand why someone might want to show highlights of their nephew Billy's U8 game on this forum rather than over at the other one. But my original point is that we should try as much as possible (I know, we sometimes digress and go off on tangents) to stick with 'Youth National Teams' topics and personalities.

I think the forum should just stay exactly as it is.

    It's fine.

If Joe Shmo's start posting videos left and right - then we will deal with it.

But if a 10 year old kid is with a La Liga club - I want to know about it.

And he's most likely a future YNTer at some level (even if he only makes it to one camp).

I agree. So long as it isn't being abused (and it isn't right now), I like YNT just the way it is. It's a fairly low-traffic forum and a lot of these "non-YNT" threads are useful. For example, KJ Ahlo = Not a YNT player. But his thread has been an interesting view into the early youth development process and ODP, two areas that don't get a lot of exposure and ink.

This forum is essentially USA: Youth National Teams and Youth Development and I'm totally okay with that.

Kid looks phenomenal, and it's certainly encouraging that he's training with one of the best youth set-ups in all of Europe. Should be exciting to see how he develops over the next decade.
