Portugal looks to be bringing a pretty capable squad to this tournament. Not expecting good things tomorrow. Would be happy with a tie. And yeah UAE over Egypt..
Vamos Chile!
And they hit the crossbar in the 1st half. All in all, not "too bad", though we should've lost (and at least by 2 goals). Is Qatar or France next? We need to beat the Qataris and get a result vs. the French, and with some tweaking, I think it's not a far fetched thought. After Toselli, our best performer was captain Abarca: he learned a lot during his time at Villarreal, apparently and one can tell he was part of the Toulon squad last year. Jorquera will never be more than a bit-part player: shows flashes of brilliance but that's as far as it goes.
Qatar is next. I hope the team doesn't have a letdown game against them. They have a very legit shot at advancing now. I'm not sure how strong the French squad is, but I'm sure they want payback for last year.
'Welcome, and I would assume so because all games have been broadcast thus far. In regards, to today's game...(some) credit must be given to Basay: 2 of his subs were involved in the goal (Medel and Martinez).
Can anybody tell me how good Paolo Magalhaes, Michael Silva & Charles Aranguiz are. Udinese want to buy all three as future stars. Are they any good? Thanks guys
!! Where did you get this news...Udinese is buying Chilean players like crazy...where are they going to put them all. Lol. Talented players the three of them, but they have a lot to learn yet, perhaps the most experienced one at the moment is Charles Aranguiz.
Magalhaes: RB/DM. Very promising player and though he has been a regular starter in the 1st div. (first for Antofagasta, now for Cobreloa), he was not a starter for our failed U20 team at this year's U20 WCQ tourney (in Vza.). Michael Silva: 2nd striker/winger. Another promising young lad, who was part of our U20 NT that finished at the WC in Canada (2007). Barely featured for that team, though (in fact, the only game I remember him starting was vs. Austria, in the 3rd placegame). Is a product of the Wanderers' youth system and was a regular with that team in 2006. After the U20 WC, moved to Mexico and only played in the 2nd div. there. Went back to Chile last year and this season, has featured regularly for Cobreloa and has been one of their most consistent performers. Charles Aranguiz: CM/AM. Great passer of the ball, with vision. Probably one of about 3-4 players to come out with some credit from this year's U20 WCQ team. has had indiscipline problems which will probably prove his undoing as his career progresses. Has been a regular in the Cobreloa squad since '06, and a starter since '07 (Jaime, correct me if I am wrong?) Was left out of the Toulon squad because he arrived late to a team meeting. Hope this helps, mate!
Really? All of them play in my club, COBRELOA. Sorry for my english. Paulo Magalhaes probably is going to play in Locarno(Switzerland). Locarno bought the pass to his former club, Antofagasta. Is an excellent right midfielder (but plays in defense generally). He likes to attack, but he's lazy defending. He's not a regular starter in Cobreloa (incredibly). Charles Aránguiz is an offensive midfielder, but he also played in the right midfield, and even as a deffensive midfielder. But he's a "8". He is a good free-kicker. After several years being the "crazy boy" in our club, since 2008 he's more responsible, mature, etc (he has a family now, so, he changed). For that reasons, he's starter in our club since 2008. Michael Silva: fast, technical player, but with a bad end of championship. He's little, like Aránguiz. He has the Alexis Sánchez style, but Sánchez is better of course. Sometimes he takes the free kicks and corner kicks. In some games, he played in the left midfield (more a left winger). But he can play in the right or left side of the attack. Starter in COBRELOA this year.
