Main thread: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1047319 Thanks for all of your support. This is obviously the first of what we hope will be many exciting Charity Shield Matches and we'd love to have you all there. I have a .pdf event flyer that William's wife Kristen was kind enough to make so if you'd like a copy of it to distribute to friends, family and co-workers, feel free to email me or him. Thanks. Looking forward to seeing you all there on the 7th!
Yours truly will be playing in the women's game, so ya'll better show up and cheer! (or laugh when i spot devon mctavish on the sidelines and trip over myself... haa)
Pops and the missus will be there. She is the program manager for her company's wounded warrior hiring project. This is near and dear to our hearts. Plus, we get to mingle on the sidelines with DCU players and cheer on our beloved Barra peeps to victory.
No alchohol in the stadium/parking lot, etc... Brion's grill which is nearby is the designated pre/post game spot There is a flyer with this info on it that I can't post
I will by flying back from Chicago that day and was on the fence about being able to attend but the pre/post at Brion's grill seals the deal. I am banned for life from that Bar.
the sunday brunch is way over rated for the people going there pre game on sunday...stay away from the brunch...major league rip off
Did they pimp this game somewhere and say it was last weekend? I swore I heard someone talk about it - maybe during the United/NE "game"?
Even though his prediction is wrong, I thought Tino's thoughts on the match were comically accurate... http://voices.washingtonpost.com/dcsportsbog/2009/06/barra_brava_vs_screaming_eagle.html For some reason, whenever I try to do fitness at training, all the guys look at me blankly and then just take another drag from their cigarettes.
And don't drink, party, and go to bed early the night before. Oh wait. This is the Barra FC and it is a Sunday match. They gotta drink and party the night before to function the next day. Still no donuts though.
Okay, do I wear my SE jersey with a Barra hat and scarf, or the Barra jersey with an SE hat and scarf? hmmmm, decisions, decisions edit: ooops, meant to say this on the main thread, but it's probably funnier to leave it here
cant do any post game because of effing work... but i should be able to make it out for at least the womens game... see yall soon!
