Koblenz and Oberhausen will still be fighting for their lives.

Mark them down as three points at your own peril.

But of course, you only said "SHOULD....."

    LOL!! :D

Dude, am pulling for you but Mainz and GF are showing that NOTHING is a sure thing this season. Hell, FCK too. Only FCN really look like a team that wants promotion right now.

Should be a fun last few weeks.

    Today's only posting:

I agree that Mainz 05 is very shakey in the 3 spot. With Greuther Fuerth, FCK and FCN all in the picture, these last games of the season will be telling.

Joern Anderson has never been all that convincing as a trainer after his near promotion campaign with RW Oberhaussen in 2006 was followed by relegation in 2007. He has to good a BL 2 side to not be 1 or 2. Mainz 05's battle for the DFB Pokal and the inconsistancies in the league campaign can't be that much of a distraction for them not to perform better weekly.

I still think that GFuerth may pull off the playoff spot and FCN may be the other team that could be in it. FCK is still another season away from really challenging or even winning the 2 BL.

Either team would face a stiff play-off battle with Borussia 'Gladbach and I think BMG would pull the result.

Nice to see Hansa Rostock pulling out of the relegation zone with the battle for relegation being just as tight as the top end. I believe Osnaebruck would stay up in the play-off match. TuS Koblenz is showing the right results to make me think they will be clear and free of the relegation battle in the next 2-3 matches.

With the BL 3 looking like a Union Berlin walk, I am wondering what effort Union Berlin and Paderborn will put in to stay up in the BL 2. UB is a fun club and environment to be part of. Very crazy fans. Not St. Pauli crazy; but, fun none the less.

yes keith i must beware of my use of SHOULD win :D
should is quite different than reality i'm afraid...We'll see what happens but i think i'd have to be pretty damn pessimistic to state that we won't get promoted at all. it just SEEMS too close for the guys to mess it up now...

matches in St.Pauli and Koblenz never seem easy....Oberhausen I'm sure too it's just i've never seen my team play there before.

@LB: yeah i'm really glad our game with FCN is long over-with...That team is quite dangerous right now. They even dominated us during the heart of their struggles earlier this season...

I wouldn't want you to say you aren't getting promoted either. I think you hit the nail on the head with "We'll see what happens"

Anyhow, it doesn't matter that you feel your team WILL be promoted. I may say shit, but don't pay attention. :)

I just get like that when I feel anyone "jumps the gun." I even gave my fellow Man U. fans hell last night and this morning for claiming the Premiership race is over after that awesome 4-4 at Anfield last night.

No one gets it "easy" at St. Pauli. Koblenz is a much better team at home, but if they already feel "safe", they might not be so tough. Oberhausen should be totally "safe" by then too, so that might help.

Actually Oberhausen is pretty safe already.

That's OK. SCF has dealt FCN some daggers in the 1st Bundesliga over the years.......

I thought you got two up and two down - well you got Nuremberg in the playoff spot.

    I went 2/2 - Freiburg/Mainz - Wehen and Audi.

Apart from picking Wolfsburg, I got Freiburg and Mainz right for promotion, and said that either FCN or MSV would get the playoff spot, but unfortunately backed the wrong horse in that race. Same thing for the bottom of table; got Wehen and Ingolstadt as the bottom two, but incorrectly picked Hansa as the playoff team.

(and if we're counting, I picked Fortuna to be Hansa's opponent in the playoff and Gladbach to be MSV's opponent in the playoff, and was one place off on each of those picks, as Fortuna earned automatic promotion by finishing second and Gladbach held on to finish 15th)

Any thoughts on the playoffs: FCN versus Cottbus and Osnabrueck versus Paderborn?

Does it count if I predict Fuerth's annual collapse every year? Let me go ahead and make this prediction for next year.

    Round 24
    1. ???
    2. ???
    3. Fuerth

    Round 34
    4+. Fuerth

Not really, going out on a limb would be predicting their promotion. The collapse is sort of like breathing for the rest of us.

As I said on the Sechzig thread, if some things don't turn around quickly, I'm afraid I'll have to agree with you. :(

Dude, FCN looked like the 1st Bundesliga team and Cottbus mostly looked like they should have been playing tomorrow evening......

Also posted in the playoff thread.
