You gotta admit that River was simply playing harder. They were running around, pressing like it was the final.

And if it's hard to get Peruvian teams to hustle when it does matter, it's just about impossible for them to do it when it doesn't.

Andrés, if both Estudantes da Prata and Boca Juniores are healthy or mostly healthy with all their key players, what do you predict? Boca has home field, but in your country's league, it's a few points away from the bottom... as is Estudantes.

I look forward to Boca vs. Defensor. I think it's been a while since there was an Argentina vs. Uruguay confrontation in the elimination rounds.

But you think River gave a shit about this game? It didn't matter at all for us, if anything for San Martin it had some importance since it defined who they would be facing. I think it was shown in the lineups, with the Peruvians putting many starters and River putting a combination of fracasados (Flores, Barrado, Archubi, etc.) and youngsters (Bou, Gustavo Fernandez, etc.). No excuses, San Martin is straight up horrible. One of the worst teams I've seen in the whole tournament.

i understnad colombia's point, no one can tell and say

    MEXICANS WILL PLAY IN COLOMBIA

was colombia asked, or consulted previously? i think that was the biggest mistake done by conmebol. however since colombia doesn't want mexico, and ecuador has canceles flights with mexico for the next 30 days, what's left? venezuela. peru, bolivia?

i think that the costa rica, or US options sound interesting now....

Maybe they should have used the B squad for the whole tournament.

Maybe they should play in Puerto Rico, a mini vacation for everyone :D

Seriously though, with the huge hype this damn flu is getting who's gonna want a Mexican team in their country?

I just can't wait till all of this goes away and everything gets back to normal because I'm sick (no pun intended ;) ) and tired of hearing about this flu.

It seems not to many people know, How Peruvians are?

Just like la "U" in San Lorenzo or San Martin in River. Once a Peruvian team acknowledges that they already have all the odds to be in the next round, then a Peruvian as a person immediately would care less of what happens.

    Good Examples:

U vs San Lorenzo, San Lorenzo played like it was the final of the world cup. La U careless thinking that Libertad was no way going to get beat up.

San Martin vs River, San Martin knowing that has already passed, they have been doing something for the past 2 games in la Copa, which is walk and walk around. (Trust me, that is not San Martin who you saw against River)

The best example of all is, Peru vs Mexico Copa America Paraguay.
Peru was beating easily 2-0, and end up in a tie 3-3 and lost on the penalties. what happen?

Flavio Maestri said in a report: "We just could not believe we were playing so good, so we started to retain the ball and just pass the ball around".

This sort of things are typical in the Peruvian player since the early 80's.

So trust me when I say San Martin will give a great match to Gremio and wont be too easy for Gremio.

BTW: I read the Colombian state is no longer going to let the Mexican teams play in Bogota. Also there are teams who do not wish to travel to USA to play a match. So the chances of "U" and Everton getting back are still big.
Either way I believe no team can play in a country who is not part of the Copa Libertadores, so the Mexican teams have to chose a South American countries.

I am getting sick of playing Palmeiras. First, because they're a tough team. Second, we qualify for this tournament for the first time in 21 years, and then play most of our games against a team we play in our regular league. And finally, you win the "Group of Death" and are rewarded with playing the other team that survived. Bah!

Then again, it doesn't matter. You gotta beat everyone if you want to win this thing. Pelo Sport tudo!!!
