Time to have some fun designing San Antonio's jerseys. Somebody mentioned that we should use "Shiner Bock" colors and those colors reminded me of the team "Wolverhampton Wanderers"
I found this about the San Antonio Thunder that played in the NASL (North American Soccer League) in the 70s. I'm gonna do some thinking to see what team has a jersey like that one. http://home.att.net/~nasl/jerseys/roughnecks.htm
Here's a few ideas... trying to use the colors of the flag and keeping in mind that Austin already uses red and white stripes and also possible friendship with other teams. (Monterrey) Rayados Monterrey Real Sociedad (Spain) Gremio (Brazil)
Before I post my first comment on this forum, I would like to introduce myself OK.......as for the jersey of the possible new USL team in San Antonio, I have these 3 facts to consider: 1. Whether SSE will be the owner of the new franchise or someone else? 2. If SSE did end up with the new SA soccer franchise.....then we all must look at what they ALWAYS have done to all of the sports franchises they already own (Spurs, Silver Stars, Rampage) 3. SILVER and BLACK! Having examined each of these points.....I am all for it. There is no more serious and intimidating color for an opponent to wear than black. The color all by itself brings you anyone's and everyone's respect and that is the best type of start you can possibly have
I know that I went to a Thunder game once when I was a kid. I must've blocked the horrid memory of those uniforms out of my mind. I can only hope that you won't be able to find ANYONE, ANYWHERE with uniforms that even remotely resemble those. Though, as an Aztex fan, I do kinda hope that your team ends up looking something like that. It would be just so awesomely mockable.
I think you make a good argument. The one problem I see (and I have no idea how much of a problem it would be) is that the other teams all play indoor. No concern about wearing black at 4pm on an August afternoon like the soccer team would sometimes do. Heck even 7pm. Of course, if they somehow swing a deal with the Alamodome (ugh) then it wouldn't matter.
As a die hard Spurs Fan.... I'm tired of silver and black for every SSE team... At first the Rampage wasn't silver and black. Something new... Something LOUD but nice.

I know.......we all have a right to express our differing opinions. But I find it hard to imagine that the same SSE organization which owns those 3 franchises will now try to differ from those by going: Green? Yellow? Blue? Purple? Red? Brown? I give my vote to keep the Silver and Black that the rest of the sports world already associates with the great city of San Antonio
May I present for all of you the Jersey which is proudly worn by the MOST FAMOUS, MOST ADMIRED, MOST FOLLOWED, MOST SUCCESSFUL AND MOST PRESTIGIOUS PROFESSIONAL SPORTS CLUB IN PLANET EARTH:
Ok, let's try black, gray and white. PLEASE! Don't quote all the pictures Juventus (Italy) Newcastle (England)
One small problem: It's a nice idea, but you probably don't want to have the same uniforms as the Rochester Rhinos.
Damn, thanks for saving us some time I wish I had known before spending an hour looking for all those pictures
The best name that SSE can come up with while still using that "S" (San antonio, Spurs, Silver stars) as the first letter would definitely be: SAN ANTONIO SAINtS GO SAINtS GO !!!
Now that you say that... how about "Santos" (means Saints)? I know is in Spanish, but Santos sounds pretty close to "San Anton" and besides, that's the name of one of the best teams in Mexico "Santos Laguna" and also the team where Pele played most of his career in Brazil "Santos"
We are talking in "Crocketteers Strategy" about colors for the team so we can make banner, logo, etc. I thought I'd go ahead and share the pictures of jerseys that I mentioned over there. We were talking about finding jerseys/colors that were brown or light brown. Universitario (Peru) "El equipo crema" = "The cream team" I really like this one because it has a dirty white color that give it an old look to it. Trujillanos (Venezuela)
