Well Bora Milutinovic is the best coach your FA, with its finances, could get at the moment. He is probably in a top 6 best Serbian coaches.( Radomir Antic, Miljan Miljanic, Vujadin Boskov,Dusan Bajevic,Ljupko Petrovic and Bora)Couple of years ago(after his miraculous World Cup campaign) he was among the candidates to take over Serbian NT but that deal fell through due to some misunderstandings with a board. He participated 5 times at the World Cup with 5 different teams. His style is to have an absolute control of the team and everything else concerning the team (training facilities, choice of opponents for friendlies, dealing with press, language of communication, etc.). Otherwise he will leave the post like it happened when he was Mexicos coach.
I really hope that he can do something with Iraqi team, I know what is it like when the country is going through difficult period and team does well, it brings joy to suffering people. So I will cheer for Iraq.:)

Then he will leave the very first day. The other possibility is that he gets a heart attack.

    Thanks man :)

Just read that Troussier is out of the post, he just demanded too much. So it's very possible to get Bora now.

This guys sounds promising. He has coached plenty of teams at the world cup stage so has plenty of international experience.

The questions remains, is 2 months enough time for him to be able to do anything for us?

The draw in this confederations cup has been super kind to us. We need to take advantage and make the semis at least!

Thanks for the info bro, I like how he wants absolute control of a team, that should be the way it is, especially with an FA like ours.

This guy needs to tell them all to ******** off and let him get on with it.

It's confirmed, he's our new coach. The contract will be signed in Baghdad.

    The Iraqi NT stuff:
    - Head coach: Bora Milutinovic (Serbia)
    - Assistent coach: Radhi Shenshil (Iraq)
    - Goalkeeping coach: Amir Abd Alwahab (Iraq)
    - Fitness coach: Fernado Suarez (Brazil)

He has said that after Confederations Cup he might extend a contract. And that would be the best for you, because you need a long-term coach to achieve something.

Good point, we've had too many coaches in the last while. Stability is one of the keys to long term success.

The problem is will he be able to cope with the lack of professionalism from our FA? Also our FA is trigger happy, one or two bad results and he could be gone :(

Well, my friend, some say that people become less requiring with age.But I am of opinion that an old tree breaks before its straightened.
So he will not change his standards and expectations. Your FA will have to change. I know its difficult , because when the cat is away the mice will play. Situation in sports reflects the situation in the society as whole. The same thing happened to us, but we finally got proper people in right places. Things will be back to normal for you too.Iraq showed its potential in Asian Cup, so just be patient.I think and I hope that you are in the right hands.

Bora was scheduled to arrive to Baghdad today, but Visa issues have lead to a delay.

He will stay in Jordan and attend Arbil-Orouba AFC Cup match instead.

Bora in Baghdad, that's the only picture I've found so far.

There will be a press conforence with the media tomorrow where Bora will answer questions about his plans for the NT.
