Well since it looks like we always have a different line-up every game of the season, i thought i would put my line-up out there and see what everyone thinks, put ur line-ups up to, anything is better then what we've had out there for the 3 games Donovan Jordan Lewis Kirovski Magee Tudela Del la Garza Gonzalez Marshall Franklin Saunders Subs:Berhalter, Gordon, Dunivant, Miglioranzi, Patterson, Sanneh
I think I would do: ------Jordan----Gordon----- Lewis--Donovan---Migs------? AJ-----Berhalter--Franklin---Omar ----------Ricketts----------- My god, that's a depressing excercise. We have a far worse midfield then we have defense. Even putting Landon in there doesn't make it any better.
Never I still want to see a 5-3-2 one day ------------------------Gordon------------------------ ------------------------Donovan--------------------------- -----------Lewis----------Migs---------Tudela---------- ---DeLaGarza----------------------------Franklin-------------- -------------Marshall---Berhalter----Gonzo---------------- ------------------------Ricketts-------------------------------
I can see something like: -----Donovan----Gordon------ Magee-----Tudela----Migs----Klein Lewis----Berhalter--Sanneh----Franklin ---Ricketts---- I would prefer to have Omar Gonzalez in there over Berhalter and Sanneh together, but I think Arena might go for the experience considering the state of the defense. I also really hope he doesn't play Kirovski over Gordon, and hope we get Ricketts this week instead of Saunders. I don't think he goes with Jordan, Patterson, or anyone too young in this kind of a game. Do wish we had Buddle back, though. Gordon and Buddle would allow Donovan to play in the midfield and fill Dema's spot, and that's not a bad offense right there.
You know... i really like Kleins effort... he would be better the last 15 minutes of every game, not the first 75.
I'm still beside myself trying to figure out how any coach, especially that of Arena's tenure, thinks he can get by with old legs on the flanks? -------Magee--Gordon Donovan-Lewis--Tudela--Jordan DeLaGarza--Gonzo-Franklin--Marshall -----------Ricketts-----------------
I really think Donovan needs to be pulled back into the hole to help shore up the midfield a bit. I think that is actually his ideal spot. I would like to see a line up like this: -------------Jordan---------------Gordon--------------- ----------------------Donovan(c)----------------------- ------Lewis------------------------------Klein----------- -----------------------Tudela---------------------------- -DeLaGarza----Berhalter----Gonzalez----Franklin----- ------------------Saunders/Ricketts----------------------
I'd like to see ---------------- Gordon -----Lewis---------Donovan --Patterson ---- Tudela ------ Klein Adolph -- Berhalter -- Gonzales --- Franklin -----------------Ricketts And I'd like Marshall to start getting first of the bench defender minutes so eventually we can have him starting at CB. Jordan off the bench for Klein.
I remember Yallop doing the exact same thing. He tried to play an entire season without any real consistent wide play (of course this is the same guy who narrowed the field, right?)
Okay, based on the 4 games I've seen, when everyone is healthy I wouldn't mind seeing this: -------------Ricketts AJDLG--Gonzo--Berhalt--Duni ------------Kovalenko Franklin------------------Lewis -------------Donovan ------Buddle------Gordon
If we're playing for ties, I never saw anything wrong with a 7-2-1... --------Donovan-------- ---Patterson---Jordan--- -------Kovalenko------- ---------Migz---------- -AJDLG-----------Sean- ----Lewis----Gonzo----- --------BigCat--------- ----OtherDonovan------ We might even score on corners if we send Omar, Sanneh, and Ricketts into the box
Why not just stack our field players one on another ones shoulders and line all 10 of them up from post to post in front of the goal as sort of like a human wall! We can then play the goalkeeper slightly in front of them to keep the opposing team honest. Guarenteed 0-0 results every game!
