This match is live today and the score is currently 2-1 to FCM and Danny Califf. Jeremiah White did not start but entered the game in the 63' for Nando Rafael. Benny is not on the bench for AGF, having not gained match fitness yet. Wow, and AGF equalize! 2-2 There have been 3 goals within the last 4 minutes. White was not directly involved in either AGF goal. Both came off set-pieces (a corner and a free-kick). I'm not sure if Danny was at all responsible. (sorry about the incorrect times earlier. It's still too early. I can't read before 10:00 am) This match is now in the 75th minute.
And Jeremiah White had a last gasp 1/2 volley saved by the keeper and the match ends 3-2 in favor of Danny Califf and FC Midtjylland.
Thanks for the updates. Since he's getting up in his late 20's I would hope White would soon head to MLS instead of toiling away in Denmark. Same for Califf.
White got injured in the last match against Horsens, so he was not fully fit to play from start... or actually, he would probably not have played at all, if not for they fact that AGF are running out of players who are fit to play... For the next match against FCK, AGF at this moment only got 11 players (of which not all are fit) they can use of a squad of 29... The other 18 players are either injured or serving a match ban .. .
Califf btw looked very good in this match.. As long as Califf and White are regulars, ther is no reason for them to return to the US to play MLS.. 1) Do MLS want to offer more $$ ?... no 2) Is MLS able to offer a more professional environment, with more intensity at training and in the games ?... no, quite the opposite, according to Califf. 3) Is MLS able to offer the chance of playing important and competitive games against clubs like Manchester City, Sampdoria, Getafe and Tottenham ?... No .
I agree, Ceres. Without turning this into a MLS vs Superliga debate, I would never call starting in the Danish top division, 'toiling.' The SAS Ligaen is very competative and plays quality soccer. Just look at AaB's success in the UEFA Cup as a limited example. As long as White, Califf, Parkhurst, Feilhaber or whoever else wants to play in Denmark are getting minutes, getting paid and enjoying life, I see no reason why they need to come to MLS, and I say that as a huge MLS fan.
Oh I wasn't saying that any of them should go to MLS. Just hoping really. Denmark seems like a solid place for Americans to head to now. I'm still not favoring other lesser leagues like Norway, Austria, and Sweden, but there's too many Americans doing well in Denmark to be upset about it. I just think that Americans who are veterans of foreign leagues could do a lot for MLS.
