...and judging by the lack of reaction around here, we all did...

Francisco Maturana resigned on Wednesday as head coach of Trinidad & Tobago.

Introducing as new Interim Head Coach...

(translation: he gets two games to right the ship...gee, thanks Jack...)

    Russell Latapy.

    Congratulations, Russell...best of luck!

Let's see, after squeaking past Guatemala in the semifinals (after having spent the first year of the cycle in a shambles, no less) they earn a road draw against the team that turns out to have earned a point off the confederational giant (the USA), and then get beaten by said confederational giants by a very predictable scoreline while playing on the road. Ok, they failed to beat Honduras at home, but that would've been considered a mild upset.

    Nice guy, that Jack...

that's an awfully panicky move. i don't see this as getting them closer to that 4th spot.

More confirmation that not all federations simply accept results that are below expectations.

Not that that's necessarily a wise move...

This move brings new meaning to the phrase "rearranging the deck chairs."

Good luck Russell. You're going to need it.

But have results been below expectations? Not by much.

TT don't have the talent right now..............I don't care who the coach is. Oh yes, they have offensive talent like Kenwyne Jones and Carlos Edwards. But their defensive talent is way below par when compared to the top teams of the hex.

And please, let's not turn this into Bob Bradley hater thread #6452.

Kenwyne Jones may be able to do the business for Sunderland, but the guy's practically a cadaver when he suits up for T&T:

    4 goals in 36 caps.

Nobody to cross the ball into him. Edwards has pace, but we saw his crossing ability against the US. El Stinko.
