http://www.nislnet.com/news/?article_id=103 For the 5th time in 7 years, the BALTIMORE BLAST are WORLD CHAMPIONS. Incredible. I'm speechless. This was a great and close game but the almost 10,000 fans willed the BLAST to another WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP. Let the champagne flow BALTIMORE, we have another title to celebrate. GO BLAST!!!
I know I shouldn't feed the troll but I just gotta do it. Must be a small world. I'm a Blast supporter but to call them World Champions is ridiculous. They're not even North American Champions since they will not play Stockton or Detroit for the North American Championship. They're NISL champions period. Lay down the crack pipe or bottle of MD 20/20 and take a cold shower.
The NISL is the top division of INDOOR SOCCER in the world. Hence the BLAST are WORLD CHAMPIONS. We do not play outdoor. We do no play futsal. We play indoor soccer. We play with the best indoor players. Therefore, it would be safe to say that we're the best. Why should the BLAST play the Stockton Cougars, when the Cougars couldn't even beat LaRaZa??????? Ed Hale tried to play against the XSL this season, but was turned down. Is that our fault???? Remember, insults doesn't offer anything. It shows that you have nothing to offer. I believe that you are above that.
Spoken by a man who has posted all kinds of insults here. Then there are the Rockford goofs who have also posted insults here, as well as some laughably absurd claims. Does this mean the NISL has nothing to offer? One thing I do respect about the XSL is that they don't have their people coming on this forum and attacking other leagues or their critics. The NISL has superior talent, and they just had an exciting series of playoff games. But some NISL operatives could learn a thing or two about how to conduct themselves from the XSL. Coming on this site and attacking fans and planting rumors about the other league isn't real cool.
Skip, again, I do not insult other posters via name calling. I don't and won't call people idiots. Taking aim at anything sports wise, is in bounds. We can all debate and have fun, but being classless and personal is wrong. I won't give up that crusade. You may disagree with me and that's your choice, but I will keep my comments sports related, even if others challenge my position. As stated before, I am an ordinary fan. I don't work for any league and I come on this board for entertainment and enjoyment purposes. I love indoor soccer. I love the BLAST. But not an employee. Back to the topic. Again Congratulations are in order to the BLAST. Great crowd and the best fans in indoor soccer. GO BLAST!!!
Great crowd and the best fans in indoor soccer. GO BLAST!!![/QUOTE] Great Crowd yes 10,000 no way in hell, maybe tickets distributed. ( notice i did not say SOLD ) but more like 8k + but not near 10K upper deck on both side was extremely empty sadly. But yes it was also a great hard fought battle! hell right to the very end and alittle after. congrats to the blast and all it members and fans for another championship NISL style.
yeah, to call the Blast the "World Champions" is extremely ridiculous... They're the NISL champions (deservedly so) and that's it. Btw, congrats to the Blast and their fans.
In your opinion. Kudos to Ed for making the attempt but you do not get to claim the title by default. In prior year's you had more of a case but I would be surprised if the Blast finished 14-4 had they played a home and home with Milwaukee, New Jersey, Detroit, Chicago and Stockton as well as the other 4 NISL teams. I'm not saying they would not have won the league, just things would have been far more difficult. You can only claim to be the best when you have played the best.
100% correct; if & when the time comes that there is a "World Indoor Soccer League" with teams in Europe, Africa, Asia, & Australia; & the Blast manages to make it to said finals and wins...... Then they have the right to be called WORLD CHAMPIONS.
