This league continues to bore me and i continue to watch it less and less, The Usl seems to be a better league to me, and this year i think 3 MLS players have gone to USL which tells me something. I just want to here Mexican Player give his opinion on a league that suprised even them
I would say that over the last season USL has clearly performed better than MLS teams on the World's Stage. Now whether this translates into USL being better than MLS, I don't know, but I do feel that USL is going to start making a push for bigger time players and for more international competition.
I still consider MLS at the top league but I agree with you USL is making big strides right now. Also, your right MLS is boring to watch, you are def right about that.
I also view MLS as the 1 Div, but I find it boring and rather watch USL game even if they Islanders arent playing than a MLS game. The only reason I watch MLS games is to watch Marco Velez play for TFC.
The CONCACAF Champions League, a club competition for a weak federation, is "The World's Stage?" Seriously, some folks will believe what they want to believe. 3 players have gone from USL to MLS? Holy cow, I gotta write that down. How many players have gone from MLS to USL, and what does that say? Facundo Erpen and Diego Serna just signed with Miami yesterday. That's two right there. USL has made loads of improvements over the years and is worth supporting. Just let's not go talking crazy because of one set of CCL games. If the Charleston Battery against the Carolina RailHawks is high drama to you, so be it. But please. Take out your frustrations with MLS by taking up kickboxing or something. Enough already.
Riiiiiiiiiight. Sure it is. In the same way that Joe Bob's corner market is run better than Wal-Mart.
Yes it is the World's Stage, because it's international competition. Having pride in one's country is one thing but saying that the CCL isn't international competition is just flat out bogus. Good day sir.
So the league that has shed half of its teams in the last 15 years is run better than the one that is up 50% while investing nearly a billion dollars in long-term infrastructure? Wow. Go RailHawks.
It's obviously international competition. It's just not the World's Stage, capital letters. Give me a break. National pride has nothing to do with it. It's where that competition ranks among international competitions. New Zealand against Papa New Guinea, is that the "World's Stage," too? One season with two teams who went one round farther than a good MLS team and you're ready to crown the USL's asses. I swear to God...the absolute stupidest shit on Bigsoccer comes out of New York. Absolutely.
In terms of the MLS, I would definitely add the capital letters, USL OUT PLAYED THE MLS ALL TOURNEY LONG. You can say what you want but the results are there. No, that's not the point, its that USL didnt dismiss the tourney like MLS did. They werent scared to face the competition and won.
There is not liking a league and then there are overtly false statements. And MLSsnobs makes me laugh, we just need Asiasnobs and Oceaniasnobs to add to our Eurosnobs and SouthAmericasnobs to complete the list.
Go RailHawks. MLS is a better league than USL-1 and MLS, LLC is a better run business than USL. Go RailHawks.
That's why the MLS has been pillaging USL franchises? Last 3 out of 4 expansion teams have been USL teams. 1. Seattle 2. Portlan 3. Vancouver
I saw where it said the owners of FC New York wanted to go MLS. just wondering, whats the deal with that?
I'm not sure I know what you are referring to, but after meeting with the owner of FCNY and listening to his response to the very same question, I can only tell you that MLS is currently NOT in their picture. Maybe in the future things change but now, they are not looking to MLS at all.
