The only good team out of Ecuador that is ok is LDU. After that, maybe I'll give you Emelec.

It seams so reasonable to have paraguay ahead of colombia and ecuador...First, the colombian league is even more overrated than the mexican one..Maybe I would've given you colombia up there two years ago, but now? no

Now like I've said before, the only good team out of ecuador is LDU and Cuenca, Emelec, IMO

emelec is alright, they are in a streak right now and barcelona is better, emelec didn't even dispute liguilla last year, barcelona did..... Cuenca is doing well in the league and libertadores... barcelona is doing well from that bad start except for that upset last game... LDU of course and El Nacional.

Dep. Quito .. I dislike .. they are all over the place y siempre se ahuevan in international tournaments.

p.s. I didn't mean to downplay peru's league .. I was just saying. they are not above ecuador. that is all.

Leaving international results aside, the Uruguayan league being suspended on more than one occasion should affect their ranking.

Paraguayan league bettern than both Ecuador and Colombia?

It's not as difficult to run a league where most of the teams are situated in the same city.

Right, I agree that the instability in Uruguay's football due to the suspensions has a negative effect on their league. I wasn't arguing about ranking Uruguay higher. Obviously there are many factors to consider in the rankings. You can't just go by Copa Libertadores results, because Copa Libertadores gives you a glimpse at specific clubs, not the whole league.

But, I was responding to a quote that said:

I thought that statement needed to be challenged. Since Uruguayan teams have been very competitive so far, with Nacional in first place and Defensor Sporting tied for second, I was questioning how 'el rendimiento en la Copa Libertadores' would show 'una caida del futbol Uruguayo'.

I think these two clubs are representing their league remarkably well up to this point.

ecuador has only la liga y asta ellos no estan haciendo vien en la copa i think unversitario and san martin are abeeter then any ecuadoria team, and at the same level of 2009 liga.
remember that cristal the third peruvian team got eliminated by estudiantes with a tie, only thing estudiantes had a better away goal difference. so i think this year peruvian league grew alot, you could also see it on the amount of people that go to the stadiums in comparasson to other years..
