A great post by MrSangster with some interesting stuff. Figured this deserves a thread of it's own. I'm definitely curious to see how the bolded part does for the Fort.
I think it will be an awesome addition. I don't want it to look segregated (especially because there is a racial component and I don't want that to be misread), but I'd actually like to see them on the opposite side (like raging (poser/on the payroll) bulls nation from the fort to try and rally from the other side. "A billion eyes"???? Even if you assume that each person has 2 eyes...even 3 eyes, that seems a bit large for a number.
you need to understand the nuance of carefully worded marketing phrases such as that. he probably isn't wrong.
no, I understand completely- (marketing and communications is what I do for a living). I was making fun.
does anyone remember the soca-ish band that showed up for a couple of games back in like season 3 or 4? (may have even been just 1 game)
That was the T&T group for Avery John IIRC. We also had a small Brazilian contingent show up for Cate when he played for us. Ah yes ... those were some good sights.
Sure is, now we don't have to go to the Foxxy Lady after games Alan. They are bringing the chicks to us!!!!! Can't wait. I'm gonna get laid so much this summer. BEST YEAR EVERRRRR!!!!! I knew Obama would save us.
And if it's accurate, it begs the question, why haven't they managed to strike a deal? And between the comment about a tech company being a good fit, and Bilello's comments about sponsorship conflicts, it gives a good idea of what kind of business they want.
The other side would be cool, but they are specifically trying to keep all the "supporters" on the fort side and "fans" on the other... so I don't see that happening.
The irony of course is that the SAP building along I-95 is that you see them displaying flags of the other major teams in Boston in their foyer. I think the Revs need to start by sending them a team signed flag to add to their collection. I wouldn't get a SAP jersey, since I am a PeopleSoft/Oracle girl.
http://tuboston.com/ This is a spanish language version of Boston.com and it has some sort of REVS scrolling headline link thing on its homepage. Pretty prominent too.
Besides the Revolution, I am a Bayern Munchen fan. Tornberg is a Saprissa and a Barcelona fan. Thankfully, neither one of us knew the score of the FCB vs. Barca match ( would someone send Jurgen a surfboard and point him in the direction of California and tell to take the rest of the seaon off). He asked me if Hoffenheim was still atop the Bundesliga and I replied that they were near the top. Their mercurial rise due solely to the SAP founder's good grace$$$. He said that SAP would be a good fit as the MLS is seen around the US and broadcast in Europe as well. He said that it would be difficult for a sponsor such as Coca Cola, a great global brand name, to become a team sponsor when the league already has Pepsi as a sponsor. He explained the difficulties of attracting quality team sponsor's that don't conflict with existing team or league sponsor's. We were standing behind the goal on the turf field in East Boston. We were chatting and then a slow parade of parents and players came up. One of them was a gentleman of Peruvian descent with a clipboard came up and showed Craig a listing of names and emails. He then explained that this gentleman ran several hispanic soccer leagues and was attracting players and fans to fill a "true bouncing barra." He said that they had the support of several hispanic radio stations and had 400 signed. He said the next home game would be fun. I hope he is right. I asked if there were problems in a barra if you have fans from Peru, Chile, Parguay, etc. He said "No, only when there is a world cup qualifier." We all had a laugh at Argentina's expense from their recent trip to La Paz.
Lay off Argentina hoss. The wound is still fresh, and if provoked I cannot vouch for my self-restraint.
