    Seacoast @ Rev's

Cold, breezy - turf field in East Boston

    u16's

    Rev's 3 - Seacoast 1

Rev's started out okay but Seacoast pressured early and scored by beating the Rev defender and dribbling in and slotting home the ball. Rev's started to find their form midway through the 1st half and scored 2 goals in a short time frame. One more goal and some nice posession sealed the game.

Spent most of the first half talking with Craig Tornberg.

+ Hasn't seen too many of the academy games. During the match, he had a steady stream of players & parents coming up to him. Trying to introduce him to players

+One of the new African (forward?) signee's is in and has his visa. Ready to go. Attributes this to a new lawyer who processes visa's faster.

+ Doesn't know why TJ Maxx has jersey's with no word mark's. Although they are actively looking for a shirt sponsor, there is no imminent sponsor or shirt design change. Said technology companies such as SAP would be a good fit and there would be "a billion eye's viewing the Rev's shirt this year."

+Thinks Argenis will catch on quickly in Costa Rica

+There will be a Latina Barra fan club at the next home match. Team is actively recruiting the Hispanic crowd on the Spanish stations and local leagues.

+Rev's will have a Futbolito ths year.

+Asked him why they didn't save the #12 for the fan's and he said he wasn't sure of why. Said that Steve Nicol would give out a #10 to jersey for an extra special playmaker. SN hasn't seen one yet

+Rev's were not fans of the reserve team system

+ Claimed not to have read the BigSoccer boards in 6 months

Someone needs to tell him that SAP is in Germany but a big division of Citrix Systems (one of the largest software companies in the world by market cap) is right down the street. Maybe he can visit them on the way back to the stadium from SAP.

The SAP brand is one of the most recognizable in the world, and is one of the most positively recognized brands. With all due respect to local software companies, SAP would do much much more to help grow the Revs brand...as well as bring in the CASHMONEYZ$$$$$$

EDIT: And if you are referring to the "rule" about local sponsors, welll I think that was thrown out the window pretty quickly with sponsors like VW(wolfsburg, deutschies), Amway(michigan), BOM (montreal) etc...

I wonder if MLS still has his rights - and whether the Revs could benefit from any transfer fees.

We had a significant Latino following in the early days. It will be interesting to see if we can win them back. Anyway, the "intent" to market to the serious soccer fan community is a positive step.

Positively recognized!? Have you ever rolled out SAP?

To me this smacks of watching games on FSC and going "ooh, there's a nice sponsor logo, wouldn't it be nice to have that color on the front of a Revs jersey?"

How about AMD? They've still got an R&D facility here from way back when ATI acquired Number 9, I think.

And yeah, I'll always prefer a local sponsor or an American sponsor over one from across the pond.

    almost every day

I prefer the sponsor which a) brings in the most cashmoneyz and b) enhances positive brand recognition. locale doesn't mean anything to me. i am not one for jingoism, or provinciality.

I'm super provincial. Go back to wherever you came from, foreigner! Your ways confound me and you'll never fit into proper society.

For reference: Three of the Clubs in the South Conference - Southeast Division are Atlanta clubs that Zane plays against (AFC Lightning/AFU/Concorde).
They are three of the better clubs and always give us a good game.

I like how the Revs seem to play their home games in a way that limits the travel time for the other team.

    FC Delco - 3
    Revs - 1

Only Revs goal was a PK. They barely threatened in the run of play.

    Rev's 1- FC Delco 1

    First half

15th minute ball on right was chipped over FCD defender bounced and REV forward shot a low volley

    Second Half

2oth minute FCD 35 yeards out direct kick floated into the box and FCDforward beats Revs gk with the header

FCD never really threatened and the Rev's had this game. Scored the goal and let them back in it. We had a goal called back for offsides and we were offsides a few times on breakaways.

It wasn't particularly easy to get in. I had to convince the lady at the gate that I wanted to see the game and not just go in to check out the stadium. :(

Play of the day - There was a Brazilian or Spanish guy standing along the touchline. A long high ball came flying towards him and he killed it right at his feet. No bounce ... never even rolled an inch. Prettiest play of the day.

    PA Classics vs. Rev's

    U16's

    Rev's 3- PA Classics 2

PAC came out firing early and applied a lot of pressure. They had 2 goals in the first 10 minutes. Rev's pulled one back and then we tripped up a player in the box. Rev's GK Ryan Simpson (he's an 8th grader I am told) blocked the PK. This turned the tide and we got one back. A late second half corner kick had the Rev's stuff the box and we scored in the final minute.

    U18

    PAC 2 - Rev's 0

I don't know about the first goal. The second was a free kick.

Both teams have a fair number of injuries (broken foot, banged up knee, concussions, etc.)
