Chelsea winger Florent Malouda claims that Frank Lampard is alone the best Midfielder in all of England. This after he goes out and states that he is better than Liverpool's Steven Gerrard. So who is the best Midfielder in all of English football. I say only English football because i believe there lies the best midfielders in the world....cough....(steven gerrard). So who is it? I know everyone believes there teams mf is the best but who truely is the most valued?
so if he doesn't have to be an english born player...and it doesn't have to be a player in an english club....
I know i know. I shall re-word it. Basically i'm thinking that there are no better midfielders in the world than that of English ones....but if anyone begs to differ...then lets hear it.
This Lampard/Gerrard debate will go on for ever and ever..... Gerrard is the best mf in England atm and probably the world as well right now Hargreaves, Joe Cole, Lampard, Walcott, Carrick, Barry, Young deserve mentions
Gerrard is superior to Lampard for sure. But to say that the best CMs in the world are English is ignorant and is the very reason that you lot go into every WC thinking this will be the year then wondering why you're out in the quarters. There are better players than them. They are on the short-list of greats, but so are guys like Masch, Xavi, Cambiasso, De Rossi, Xabi (who has been the best CM overall this year for 'Pool, even as most 'Pool fans tend to admit), Essien, etc, etc, etc ... the list can keep going. I'm not saying that all of those guys are better than Gerrard/Lampard ... but I am saying that Gerrard/Lampard (especially the latter) are not better than all of them.
In the best form atm probably ... Xabi has been a better player and had more consistantly top play this term than Gerrard though.
This comment is just as ignorant too I love it when people who have probably never been to England always claim we think we are going to win tournaments. Our media is terrible and can portray this sometimes. That doesn't mean all 'us lot' think we are going to win it. Infact in my experience it's the opposite. Everyone I know in England thinks we aren't good enough to expect to win anything. This thread should have been locked long ago for stupidity.
