For one match. The funniest part of this:

Looks to me like the Rapids are trying to twist the knife in the Beckham wound...well done.

Can I suggest only cold water in the visiting locker room?

Not sure on this one, I like the bright and crisp display for replays...

Replays are a must but the rest of the flashing lights during the game will not be missed by me.

Good point. Whenever the displays go all yellow/red when a card is issued I start wondering if somebody just called for a Red Alert on the bridge of the Enterprise...

So they build a stadium in bum ******** Egypt, where all the fans have to drive to it, and now they want to be green, eh? There's a lot of good reasons for it to be where it is. But to come out and get all green about things seems a bit like a guy gushing about his never ending love to his wife a few hours after banging a hooker.

And who doesn't "carpool" to a sports game?

That aside, nice PR move by the Rapids in general. Not much to risk or cost to it & a chance to get some attention in the news.

I too love the LA/Beckham dig snuck in there. After all what's wrong with encouraging people to "recycle" those Beckham jerseys? :D

No light rail might be a more fair criticism, the land itself was 'recycled' (as a more central site might have been with the right incentives) but Commerce City set the bar pretty high for sweetening the deal.

Maybe it was in the release but this would be a natural to also promote the Pass-Back program. The team that recycles the most gear wins a 'Humanitarian' award from non-profit Pass-Back and for profit sponsor Eurosport.

Is that every team? I thought only certain teams were competing for that.

I thought maybe they were wearing a special green jersey or selling a green t-shirt.

    Here's some other thoughts:
"-Departmental resource cutbacks: each Rapids and Stadium department will individually make cutbacks in their areas for this game to contribute to the Play Clean Night"

Is this Kronke's way of announcing staffing cuts? To help the environment, our fan-relations officer is fired. So are the parking lot attendants. Also, don't expect anyone to answer the phones anymore.

"-display boards at the stadium to show fans savings on the night"

This is the way they're announcing a switch from electronic signs to posterboard and magic marker. Someone's kid brother will be setting by the field to keep track of the score also.

Also, while you bring in your Beckham jerseys and shirts, go ahead and bring in those Burciaga Jr bobble heads to recycle. If you bring in four items to recycle you get to start at leftback.

    Here's some textbook Rapids planning:

Gate D is the gate that is directly across from the new tailgate location for the SG's.

Now I realize its not that big of a deal to walk around the other side of the Cantina to gate E or around the corner to gate C, but when you pick a gate to close why pick the one gate your SG's are going to want to come through?

the rapids should be collecting all the "waste" from the mascots to fertilize the field.

    now that is going green.

RSL is all the poop we need on the field for this season.

The Rapids' “Play Clean Night” is just the latest example of the continuing company-wide efforts to conserve energy, save water, recycle materials, and reduce the carbon footprint left by KSE properties and their patrons by engaging their athletes, entertainers and fans who visit the company’s venues.

I thought KSE achieved that when the Rapids traded the Cone.

KSE hardly makes it difficult to pick a nit somewhere.
