You know you're really starting to push it. You get me thinking one way, now I have to start thinking another!
I'd like to point out the one striking similarity between the Atoms and the Whatevers, Lamar Hunt. In both cases, Mr. Hunt steered a person who asked a pro football related question to the world of professional soccer. In the updated telling of the story, it is Jim Nevels who became interested in owning an MLS team after innocently asking Lamar "how cool is it to run your own football team?" at a Pro Football Hall of Fame meeting.
BAH... spoilers! I'm giving negative rep because you didn't put [Results] in your subject line. I had that game recorded on tape and hadn't gotten around to watching it yet. You just spoiled my Wednesday night. Guess I'll go out drinking instead.
He had a minion stand in front of the TV with an 8mm film camera. The guy cursed the lack of commercial breaks in soccer because he had to change the reels so often he missed a lot of the game. Though I guess technically that's not tape so this post is kinda dumb.
I was 14, I was in Wildwood that night and I stayed at home to watch the game, missing a night on the Boardwalk, but it was worth every minute.
