The two most painful tackles to witness this weekend had former RSL'ers involved.

The first one was Dema's tackle on Ballouchy (both former RSL'ers). Dema came in late with a hard tackle that caught Ballouchy in the middle of the leg. When I first saw it, the first thought was Dema's two broken leg incidents. I'm not sure if it was Red-worthy, but it was definitely a rough tackle.

The other one came today with Andy Iro's reckless tackle on Carey Talley. It looked like his ankle bent about 90 degrees. I thought it might be broken and was surprised to see him trotting back out on the field a few minutes later.

What about Atiba's elbow to Marshall's face? Also, there were a host of Atiba fouls that could be up there. That guy should be banned from soccer, even pick up games. I thought CBus and Chivas were going to break out into a brawl at any moment.

It really is pretty amazing how bad the Galaxy are. I mean you'd think with these attacking options that they wouldn't be horrible.

    Landon Buddle
    Lewis Beckham

Granted they don't have becks now, but compare that with our attackers:

    Movs Findley
    Morales
    Mathis

Their offense really shouldn't be terrible.

Wow. I haven't been following Europe to closely over the past couple years, but I remember Vieri as a big name in Italian soccer. Has he hit the skids or is LA just playing teacher's pet with the league again?

Their offense isnt terrible, its their defending and midfield that is. Its hard to score when you are constantly being scored on or giving up possession.
LA reminds me of the 05 RSL team. A couple big names surrounded by complete shite

anybody else pissed that seattle is doing so well and has a pretty easy schedule (so far) to open the season?
Play a depleted NY, play a rusty first game of the season RSL, play on the road at a struggling Toronto side in winds that would blow your house down, and now back at home to play Kansas... wtf

It is possible that Seattle is actually good, and that is because of Sigi.

you mean a coach actually has something to do with how well you play (it does help to have a swedish/european star and a diamond in the rough find in Montero.... oh and possibly one of the greatest USMNT keepers of all time....)
but yeah, sigi helps too for sure.
that team is built to win now, not really built for the future (old players and young ones going to europe soon) should be interesting to see where they are 5 years from now

That's a shitty excuse. Seattle, while they might not be that good, are finishing the few chances they get and denying the other team theirs. Say what you will about their schedule, 3-0-0 is absolutely amazing for an expansion team no matter how you look at it.

when they go to a team that is actually playing well this season, and win or get a draw, then it will be official to me.
also, once they play on grass it would be nice to judge them.
playing on turf vs playing on grass is a HUGE difference

I guess I'll just copy and paste what I said before:

More excuses/qualifications you want to throw out? 3-0-0. 9 goals for, 0 against.

Turf wasn't an advantage for RSL for three years. [/CRINGE]

    QFT!

SSFC is the class of the league thus far. And I hate them the more for it.

Despite their great start, I'd still be surprised if they made the playoffs.

Consistently winning games in favorable conditions is something any team would love to be able to do.

The thing with them being built for now as opposed for the future is that Sigi now has the chance to build a young core of His Guys while the aging vets start dying off. It's possible that they won't have much of a transition period if the timing works out.

That's because RSL was built and coached by a moron who was obsessive-compulsive about trying to trade/draft his way to a Bradenton High School class of 1995 10-year reunion. You can't use anything to your advantage - even turf - when your team is shit.

Ellinger isn't half the coach Sigi Schmidt is....literally or figuratively.
