So can someone sum up what Portugal has to do to qualify now, and why it isn't likely?

I just caught the second half when Deco came in, and they seemed to be playing well.

 

Portugal wil win the world cup.

 

I don't know how many chances we need. Simao, Danny, Ronaldo.....

We outplayed them the entire game, the entire game....

Of course, CQ does have some brain farts. Let bring another CB, and then force another CB to the RB position. Why not just bring Nelson in? Lets also bring in Almeida, well, he was complete merda....

The lineup was good. Duda was good. Pepe was good. Ronaldo was decent....We created chances....The players just didn't bring it home this time. I mean, how hard is it to get a cross into the middle of the box on the corners? We have monsters in there...but no, always short, ALWAYS. EIGHT corners....

Mathematically, we are still alive, realistically, Portugal is probably finished.

 

They basically need to win out to have any shot.

Portugal played well the entire game. We generated chances, we had a good lineup. We had more possesion, more shots, more shots on net, more corners, less fouls...Basically, we had every statistic in Portugal's favour, but we cannot FINISH.

With that said, I think CQ did well with the starting lineup, but then he had some brain farts. Rolando, another CB, for a mobile - attacking RB? That doesn't make any sense. You have NELSON on the bench, who has arguably been Betis best player....and...does anyone remember what he is able to do with a ball on crosses...COME ON CQ.

I think he brought Deco on at a fairly decent time. Maybe he could have brought him on in the half...but he gave him over 30 minutes.

Almeida, wow....nothing productive from him. Danny was a much better choice. Should have stayed on, but we can't really blame CQ choice of Almeida playing terribly.....
