My favorites are Grant Morrison's. Animal Man, The Invisibles, The Filth. I'm reading Seaguy right now and have Doom Patrol on the shelf. I'm also following up on 100 Bullets and finally collecting Transmetropolitan (read it all a few times already but now I'm after actually owning all of it).

I'm wondering what the new Seaguy is going to look like.

Start at the beginning because it's just so cool all the way through.

I got the Vertigo Encyclopedia in today and have been devouring it for a few hours now. So far I'm loving its format and have been finding it very informative. Great job irvine.

From the beginning - the Last Iron Fist Story trade paperback.

I'm actually having a damn hard time finding Transmetropolitan. Is it out of print or something?

Also, while the movie was pretty cool in and of itself, I'm really digging the Battle Royale manga.

I doubt it. Are you close to Manhattan? They should most definitely have it at Midtown Comics which is around 40th St. next to Times Square. They also have another store close to Grand Central.

Even though I have all the singles I'm picking up the omnibus through amazon. With the discount and gift card I have I'm only paying $27 for it.

It's definitely one of my current top 3 books.

I'm having a hell of a time finding good condition single copies of the Claremount/Byrne run from the 70s.

It shouldn't be. It's been one of DC's better selling TPBs for a while if I remember correctly.

DC also has a "What's Next?" program going on to show people (non-comic readers) other cool books they can check out if they liked reading/watching Watchmen and Transmet is one of them.

Looks like they're all available on Amazon.

Yes and no. It's getting re-packaged, the TPBs that is. What was once 1+2 is now sold as one longer paperback, and the same fate awaits 7 and 8. So now that 7 has gone out of print, they're not printing new ones, but they will print the 7+8 in a few.

    Good info.

I'd suspect DC will release them in hardback also; the way they are with Preacher, Y, Ex Machina and Swamp Thing.

I'm IN Manhattan, but in Morningside Heights. I'll poke around Midtown Comics next time I'm down there.

So I'm finally all caught up on Fables, I like how Willingham will just kill off characters without a second thought, surprisingly it works well.

I just started in on Scalped, also from Vertigo. I liked it so much I couldn't put it down and read 10 issues straight through.

Vertigo is easily becoming my favorite publisher right now, between DMZ, Northlanders, Fables, Scapled and Unknown Soldier I'm hooked.

Lastly, is anyone else reading Garth Ennis' Battlefields and Crossed? I think both are superbly done, even though Crossed is a bit disturbing. It's amazing the crap that goes through that mans head.

I picked up DDNoir and really liked it, I even wrote somewhat of a review for it (click in link below).

I started in on Scalped and am loving it.

Thanks, Dante. I noticed that this morning while I was throwing together a blog post about the initial responses I'd seen.

I've been reading Garth Ennis' run on The Punisher, the Marvel Knights series. It's hilarious.

I went to pick up DD Noir today at my local comic shop and the owner told me they sold out and that people were coming in constantly asking for it. Seems like it's very popular, congrats Irvine.
